Tarangire River Camp is the perfect camp for adventurers who want an authentic safari and cultural experiences in Tanzania.
Stay in traditional canvas thatch roof tents, have wonderful vistas of baobab plains, and feel close to the action with a riverside position.
The camp is set in a 25,000-hectare concession area and is just 3.5 km from the main entrance of the Tarangire National Park, so every guest has amazing access to an area with the greatest concentration of wildlife outside of the Serengeti.
Tarangire River Camp overlooks a branch of the Tarangire River, which attracts fascinating animal behaviour all year round. Watch elephants digging into the riverbed in the dry season, spot predators and antelope making close encounters, and watch numerous birds dot the baobab dense landscape.
Stay in one of just 20 elegant safari tents which are all on an elevated wooden platform, which are built to encourage wildlife to move through the landscape undisturbed.
There are a number of different sized tents perfect for both couples and families, and guests can enjoy comfortable facilities of an en-suite bathroom and private veranda.

The camp
The main restaurant and bar area, and the campfire building are great atmospheric spots for late evenings and boast river views. Enjoy international food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with rich local dishes. Tarangire River Camp is home to twenty cosy safari tents, made from canvas, wood, and thatch. Every space is pleasantly cool with a thatch roof encouraging natural airflow.
The Luxury Safari Tent is built around a large and ancient Baobab tree overlooking Tarangire River, and is furnished with a king size bed. As well as the indoor en-suite bathroom, the outside deck has its own private outdoor shower and bath, which makes for a truly luxury safari stay.
There are Family Safari Tents for three, four, or five guests, which are set up with a little more room, and house a king size bed with either one, two, or three single beds to accompany.

The camp is home to 20 elevated tents, a main restaurant and bar, lounge, and swimming pool.
