Manyara Conservancy is the first project in Tanzania to combine habitat conservation with tourism, in aid of increasing the welfare of local communities.
The conservancy offers a jaw dropping 35000 acres of unspoilt wilderness, and lies within the Kwakuchinja wildlife migration corridor. The conservancy is undisturbed; no other safari operator has access to this special environment, so guests can enjoy a vast wilderness to themselves.
Located in northern Tanzania, the conservancy is next to Tarangire National Park, and Manyara National Park is across the lake. The popular Ngorongoro Crater is just a two hours drive away.
Stay in one of eight comfortable tents, built in an eco-friendly fashion, with canvas walls and warm interiors. Stay in total privacy, and go on exciting adventures in a similarly private style.
Join guided walks amongst big game through beautiful eco systems that are home to over 50 types of mammal. Have a truly luxury game or night drive in a 4x4 both on and off the beaten track, where you are guaranteed to not come across other cars.
Watch animals playing at the watering hole from one of the custom built hides and blinds, or for something outside of the conservancy go on a day trip to Tarangire Park, just five kilometers from camp.
Make new friends and learn about local culture on a village visit, or visit the Manyara Ranch Primary School and be inspired by the work that the camp is doing for local children.
This East African style tented camp is unfenced but highly secure, making it an environment that works in the interests of both guests and animals. There are eight guest tents in total, six of which are individual and two which make up a family unit. Every tent is well spaced out for privacy, and has beautiful views of the watering hole and Rift Valley. All interiors are insect proof, with warm toned handcrafted furniture including a writing desk, and guests can stay in twin, double, or triple rooms. Egyptian linen beds and en-suite bathrooms fitted with hot and cold water, flushing toilets, and rain showers guarantee a wonderfully comfortable stay. Every tent benefits from a private porch.
Have dinner with view of the watering hole and enjoy a centrally situated dining tent, where the chef prepares beautiful meals using fresh and local ingredients.
The camp has eight en-suite private tents, a central dining and lounge tent, and hides and blinds.
Apart from the dining tent, guests can dine outside under the acacia tree or have memorable evenings around a campfire.
The camp is built with low impact materials, while the main objective of the camp is to generate income for local communities. The conservancy owns the camp, while several partnerships and projects have been established in order to protect wildlife and communities.
