Rivertrees lies on the banks of Tanzania’s Usa River within ten hectares of lush tropical gardens filled with flame trees, bougainvillea, hibiscus and banana trees, plenty of birdlife and even the black and white colobus monkeys have found it the perfect home too. On a clear day it is possible to see both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro from here.
Located on the outskirts of Arusha, the Rivertrees Country Inn benefits from good accessibility to Kilimanjaro Airport. Arusha town and National Park. It offers a tranquil and green space to rest and relax after a long flight before heading out to your safari.
If time and energy allow, there is much to be explored around the area. The foothills of Mt Meru and its crater lake, Lake Duluti, sit 15 minutes away and beautiful, authentic villages surround the lodge offering insights into local life.
Rivertrees grew in stages so there are different cottages and room types to choose from, all with river or garden views. The old farmhouse has been restored and converted into a main lounge, with a few separate seating areas. It has a large fireplace and classic wooden parquet flooring and antique furniture. Afternoon tea is served here, and you can find a selection of books, magazines and board games. There are two separate dining areas, and it also a popular place for locals to eat.
