The Ratan Vilas offers luxury and grandeur in a very familial setting. Built in 1920 by Maharajah Ratan Singhj, it was the Maharajah’s grandson and great-grandson who transformed the mansion into a hotel, and they live there until today.

Rooms and guest rooms house guests with period-appropriate furniture and linen, combined with all modern amenities such as air-conditioning.

The common areas offer Wi-Fi (not available in the rooms), and guests may relax among the courtyards, gardens, by the swimming pool or even the drawing room. All this surrounded by family pictures and baubles of bygone eras.

During the day, guests may relax at the pool or ask for a village safari, which can be arranged from the mansion itself.

Meals are served in the dining room (which is fully air-conditioned) or outside under the marquee. During the evening, local musicians may perform around the gardens.

The property

Maharajah Ratan Singhji built the Hotel Ratan Vilas in 1920. The beautiful mansion counts with 15 available rooms, all furnished with period furniture and adapted to the modern era with running hot water, ceiling fans and quiet air-conditioning, LCD TV, electric kettles and more. The rooms are divided in three categories (courtyard standard and superior and pool-facing superior), with different views according to the position.

The descendants of the Maharajah still live at the mansion, providing a “hands-on” family experience as well as excellent hospitality and charm. Dining is prepared and served in the old dining room, or al fresco outside, shaded by the mansion’s marquee. The hotel also offers a swimming pool and well-kept gardens for guests to wander about and relax in.

Facilities

Ratan Vilas offers a swimming pool, courtyard, and 15 rooms equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, spacious beds and bathrooms, hot water, luggage racks, safes and a baggage storage facility. The hotel also offers Wi-Fi in the common areas. It also offers massages and secure parking.

Dining

Food is served on both the air-conditioning dining room and outside in the gardens, depending on the hour and the weather. The food served is both international and local, depending on the taste of the guests, who may request for special changes if desired.
