Part of Pugdundee Safaris, Tree House Hideaway's rooms open from the rugged exterior to a contemporary style, very much blended with jungle living. Inside the rooms, guests will have all the comforts of any modern hotel, such as hot showers, a mini-bar, and air conditioning, whereas outside, they get the lush nature of the Bandhavgarh Natural Park. But while resting on the deck lounges or at the bar (draped around a century-old Mahua tree), the visit would not be complete without exploring the surrounding nature. The Tree House Hideaway Hotel is a resting point for people interested in safaris. Around the national park is one of the highest concentrations of Bengal tigers – sightings are almost guaranteed. It is a popular destination for photography and tracking of wild tigers. Beyond, there is an incredible amount of wildlife in the form of birds, reptiles and, of course, the trees. There are around 22 species of mammals and 220 species of birds in the Bandhavgarh National Park, and many of them may be seen from your very window. The safaris count on expert naturalists who will explain what you’re seeing in depth and detail, so guests may make the most of this incredible journey.

The Lodge

The Tree House Hideaway counts five tree houses within 21 acres of land. Made of regularised wood and following traditional techniques, these houses offer all the comforts of modern living (with the internet, hot water and even a mini-bar) inside, coupled with a complete jungle experience – high among the treetops, built on stilts and covered in the canopy of the surrounding trees. All tree houses have a surrounding balcony with furniture, such as chairs and loungers, for guests to rest in and watch the incredible view around them.  The hotel offers a unique dining experience, as its restaurant is built around a centenary Mahua tree. On the second floor, guests will find a bar/lounge where they can relax from a day of wandering through the jungle and photographing tigers and other wildlife. Considering there are very few accommodations, the chef will prepare the food according to specifications, all with great quality and care. The staff will be extremely friendly, and they’re also very knowledgeable about the nature surrounding the hotel – which is, of course, the highlight of the whole experience.

Facilities

Facilities at the Tree House Hideaway are equal to what you would find at international hotels, including a restaurant, bar and lounge.

Dining

Meals are offered at the restaurant, but the hotel sometimes organises bush barbecues and picnics, as well as meals at the vegetable garden.

How this resort makes your trip more responsible

Not only is the Tree House Hideaway unique on several levels, but it’s also eco-friendly: the local workforce makes the houses of regularised wood. The natural park provides a deep insight into the local flora and fauna, and each hideaway has the name of the tree upon which it rests in the heart of the wild.

Tree House Hideaway is PUG accredited by TOFTigers, a nature tourism action charity based in Delhi, with an eco-rating of Quality. Recognised by the UN-backed Global Sustainable Tourism Council, the PUG Mark accreditation scheme represents the highest standard of eco auditing for wildlife-focused accommodation providers in India and Nepal. By staying in PUG-certified accommodation, you are supporting conservation, poverty alleviation, and responsible travel.
