Honeymoons & Couples
Apoka Safari Lodge sits in Kidepo Valley National Park and is one of the more remote locations you can go to in Uganda. If you want to feel the true essence of wild Africa, and the spacious savannah, whilst staying in a luxurious lodge, Apoka Safari Lodge is perfect.
All of their 10 rooms have incredible views over the open savannah, Narus Valley and the mountains and thanks to the location, sitting on the private terrace offers safari vistas and animals right on the doorstep. If that’s not enough then the open air bathtubs also offer a chance to watch buffalo and zebra from the comfort of a bubble bath. The open air bathrooms, and the lodge, has been designed for maximum privacy and rooms are raised on stilts so no animals will find their way into your shower.
Apoka Safari Lodge has been built around a central swimming pool carved into rock, with equally impressive views of Kidepo Valley National Park. Cool down in the pool or swap stories in the lounge before dinner.
The dining area is also part of the main lodge that has indoor and outdoor dining, with the outside tables set up on a large flat slab of rock. Breakfast can be served on the private terraces, dining room or even in the bush under a shady tree. Meals are inclusive of each stay, meaning guests can sample all of the chef’s specialities.
The lodges offer phenomenal views of Kidepo Valley National Park, but inside the rooms the design is equally impressive. Dark wooden flooring, large comfortable beds draped with curtains, locally sourced and built furniture and a traditional design of a thatched roof and large windows bringing the wilderness in. Possibly the best part of Apoka Safari Lodge are the outdoor bathtubs - perfect for stargazing at night and watching animals on the savannah in the daytime.
Dining in Apoka Safari Lodge adds to the indulgent feel of the resort, with one long dining table set with silver cutlery and crisp white linen. For those wishing to dine in private, meals can be delivered to private terraces or tables can be set up at strategic locations around the property.
Lounging facilities are dotted around the lodge and Apoka also offers a library and a swimming pool.
The on-site restaurant can cater to most diets and tastes, but for special diets please inform us in advance.
Apoka Lodge is part of Wild Places Africa, which has been actively supporting and pioneering Uganda’s wildlife conservation and protection since the early 1990’s. Guests are encouraged to learn about Apoka’s conservation efforts and also how the lodge has created friendships with a local village.
Almost all staff are from the village, and Apoka engages them in tourism activities to ensure tourism income benefits everyone. Guests can visit Lokorul village and see how the Karamojong live, participate in village life and speak with the elders.
