The Haven River Lodge is located 20km northwest of Jinja in eastern Uganda.
This peaceful and relaxed eco-lodge is set on the west bank of the iconic Nile River and overlooks the first rapids of the White Nile which flows from Lake Victoria.
Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the river, whilst keeping an eye out for a variety of wildlife and birdlife including African fish eagles, otters, monitor lizards and monkeys.
Famous for being the historic source of the Nile River, Jinja is now the adrenalin capital of East Africa.
The Haven River Lodge can arrange various river-based adventure activities, including kayaking and stand up paddle boarding with an expert guide, grade 5 whitewater rafting and speedboat rides, as well as other activities including mountain biking, bungee jumping, horse-riding, sunset cruises, birdwatching excursions on the lodge’s solar-powered electric boat, fishing trips, and cultural visits to nearby villages with a local guide.
Alternatively you can stay at the lodge and take a dip in the swimming pool or relax on one of the sun loungers or the hammock overlooking the River Nile.
The Haven is a family-friendly lodge - it has an excellent children's play area which features a sandpit, swings, and trampoline, plus children can use the lodge’s swimming pool and enjoy activities such as table tennis, frisbee, badminton, volleyball, football, and pony rides.
