This lovely little guesthouse is located a mere 10 minutes’ drive away from Entebbe International airport. This allows it to set itself up for the perfect one night stop before or after your international flights.
A charming, converted house, The Guineafowl offers a warm, homely and welcoming atmosphere. It’s the ideal spot to receive your first dose of Ugandan hospitality! Set in a leafy garden you can relax in the hammocks or chairs dotted under the greenery as you listen to the birds sing – and if you’re lucky there may be some vervet monkey visitors!
With two large deluxe rooms, one standard double, two family rooms and two self-contained apartments on offer there is something for everyone. It’s a great option for a full house takeover if you are a group, or a cosy double for the couples. All rooms are en-suite apart from the family rooms that share a bathroom between them.
The style is modern, comfortable and clean. With some wonderful hand made crafts and designs brightening up the space and making it very welcoming. The Guineafowl’s location is perfect for those looking to explore a little more of Entebbe. Close to the botanical gardens, Uganda Conservation Centre, shopping malls and down to the lake there are some great additional activities we can look at.

The Guesthouse
The Guineafowl has a nice selection of different room types. All within the main guesthouse and the apartments being situated just behind. The house is set within a lovely garden that is well maintained and offers a relaxing atmosphere, there is a large veranda and comfortable seating area in the main house.
There are two deluxe double rooms which can be double or twin, both en-suite. One upstairs standard double that can be used for double or single occupancy, also en-suite. Then two family rooms that share one bathroom are great for those with younger children. Finally, there is two self-contained apartments with small kitchenettes for anyone wanting a longer stay.
Activities
Relax in the garden, enjoy the café or Entebbe can offer a range of fantastic activities. Enjoy scenic lake cruises, wander around the botanical gardens, visit the wildlife education centre (perhaps and exclusive behind the scenes tour!) Or travel to Mabamba to seek the endangered shoebill stork.
Dining
Dining is offered in the main café either seated outside in the gardens or in the main living area. All food is freshly sourced from the local area and the food is lovingly homemade! It’s typically a twist on European style dishes using local Ugandan ingredients.
