Ideally located just a short 10 minute drive from Entebbe International Airport is the lovely Karibu Guesthouse. Karibu – meaning welcome in Swahili is a lovely boutique property that well allow a restful night after any long journey. Although the airport is close you would never know it, the peaceful surroundings lend themselves to lazy afternoons.
Set in a refurbished presidential home this location offers space and a great location. With just eight en-suite rooms you can expect personalised, attentive service and a warm welcome. The service here is fantastic and an example of the friendly faces you will continue to meet as you explore Uganda. The swimming pool is the perfect spot to relax on those hot afternoons, lie in the shade whilst you read a book or take a dip to cool down. The lake view rooms in the main house enjoy superb sunsets over Lake Victoria, while the newly built ‘safari’ rooms in the garden open the door to exotic plants and bird life.
Uganda is known for it’s lush green landscapes, and Entebbe is a fantastic place to begin any journey. This old colonial town offers some great architecture and a nice easy pace to introduce you to this wonderful country. The Guesthouse
With only eight en-quite rooms on offer this refurbished house has a warm atmosphere where you can expect a high level of service for your stay. Rooms typically are furnished with king sized beds allowing for double or single occupancy only.
Fast Wi-Fi is available in every room as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Of course take advantage of the swimming pool set in the lush gardens, or grab a free map of Entebbe if you feel like going exploring! The staff are always on hand to help organise any explorations or answer any questions you may have. The lake view rooms in the main house enjoy superb sunsets over Lake Victoria, while the newly built ‘safari’ rooms in the garden open the door to exotic plants and bird life!
Facilities
All rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee facilities as well as high pressure showers. The lovely pool is set in the gardens, as well as some garden furniture dotted around for those wishing to relax. Large verandas wrap the house and are ideal for dining or reading. All additional activities can be organised by the reception desk and there is always staff around.
Dining
Your full English breakfast is included within your stay here. Lunch is an additional option available throughout the day from the a-la-carte menu as well as dinner, which is a 4-course set meal. Dishes are Mediterranean in style due to the owners origins, creating fresh dishes with produce mainly sourced from the on-site permaculture garden.
