It’s hard not to be compelled to revert back to life on the slow side by the rustic charm of this 1940’s estate. Although the airport is close to the guesthouse, it's a quiet haven, other guests often report getting restful sleep from their colonially decorated rooms. Not only are the rooms beautifully decorated but also the entire guesthouse is furnished in East African rustic décor with lovely woodwork accents.

The Boma Guesthouse is set in a lush tropical garden with a view of Lake Victoria. Asides from the pristine pool, there is also a small playground for children to play while adults can enjoy classic garden games such as croquet or boules.

With Entebbe city is only a few minutes away and the mood to explore strikes - pick up one of their rental bicycles and make your way to the Botanical Garden. The rainforest surroundings will probably remind you of something out of an old Tarzan movie. It’s also a great area to spot Colobus monkeys and birds.

Another special place is the Mabamba Swamp, where the Shoebill Stork can be easily spotted. For those looking for something more adventurous, the staff of The Boma Guesthouse will happily help either arrange a fishing trip to Lake Victoria, an excursion to Nagamba Chimpanzee Island Sanctuary, sunset cruises or booking your green fee at Entebbe Golf Course.

The property

There are in total eleven rooms available at The Boma Guesthouse. Most of these are all ensuite – with the exception of their budget room. All rooms are decorated to maintain the original feel of Colonial East Africa back in the 1940’s, twin or king-sized four-poster beds, mosquito nets, private verandah and ensuite hot/cold showers. A family room and Triple room is also available. All amenities are included with the bonus of local handmade soaps.

Mealtime is another guest-favourite at this guesthouse. Whether your lunch is in the garden or by the pool it will be scrumptious. All the ingredients are locally sourced, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Most of their signature salad ingredients are home-grown from the manager’s garden. The staff are always prepared to help guests with any inquiries they might have, whether it's getting a cocktail from the well-stocked bar or arranging their early morning/late night airport transfer.
