Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, filled with diverse culture, delicious cuisine, and exquisite landscapes both above and below the water.
Wrapped in long stretches of palm-fringed shores with powdery white sands, the beaches are the star of Phuket. With such a huge expanse, it's important to choose the perfect area for your luxury Thailand holiday.
The east coast is culturally captivating, with charming Old Phuket Town offering museums, mosques, temples, shrines, Sino-colonial mansions, Portuguese architecture and gorgeous markets.
The north is perfect for a relaxed escape, with luxurious retreats and quieter beaches. You'll also find beautiful national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in the top end of the island.
For bustling towns and nightlife, head to the west coast. Patong attracts hoards of tourists to its high-rise resorts and infamous nightlife. You may wish to avoid this area if you're looking for a more peaceful beach holiday.
Wherever you choose to stay, be sure to explore the treasures of the Phuket's glittering turquoise waters. Known as the 'Pearl of the Andaman', the island is a dream for swimming, snorkelling, diving and kayaking.
Sink under the surface to discover the dazzling array of sea life within the protected marine parks. Venture out on a longtail boat to marvel at the soaring limestone karsts, ancient caves and hidden lagoons.
Take a day trip to go island-hopping and discover the most incredible spots of the area. Head to Phang Nga Bay to see the famous James Bond island from the movie or take the incredible Hong by Starlight Phang Nga Bay tour.
You'll cruise by sea canoe through spectacular islands and caves, release Loy Krathong (lanterns) after sunset, and watch bioluminescent plankton dancing in the water.
Phuket's diverse culture has influenced a deliciously distinct cuisine with an infusion of Thai, Malay and Chinese flavours. You'll delight in exploring the huge range of beach shacks and restaurants offering everything from steaming stir-fried noodles, to the freshest seafood and exceptional international fare.
