If you can bear to drag yourself away from the comforts of the lodge then there is the magnificent Namib-Naukluft National Park to explore, home to famous apricot sand dunes that are synonymous with Namibia, as well as the pans of Deadvlei and Sossusvlei. Your guide will be on hand to explain about the formation of the dunes as well as the flora and fauna that manage to eke out a living here. Also on offer are guided and unguided walking trips, mountain biking and hot air balloon safaris.

The lodge

This luxurious lodge for just two has all the facilities and more that you could want in such a remote location.

The vast bedroom has a complete glass front allowing you to wake up to the spectacular view every morning, then to one side and behind the bed is the lounge, with a number of seating areas and an open plan bathroom. The deck, complete with hanging egg chairs is the perfect spot for a gin and tonic as the sun goes down and is accessed through sliding glass doors from the lounge. To the other side of the bedroom, separated by curtained glass doors is the extensive kitchen and bar area which also has a deck with seating and BBQ (or braai). From here a wooden walkway winds its way over the rocks to the small plunge pool and sun/viewing deck.

As well as these ample facilities Desert Whisper has complimentary WiFi, air-conditioning, a mini-bar and a hair-dryer to make your stay even more comfortable.
