Overlooking a fertile waterhole on the private Onguma Reserve, adjacent to the eastern border of Etosha National Park, Onguma Camp Kala is the newest addition to the portfolio, joining Onguma Bush Camp and several other camps. This is an exclusive camp with an opportunity to experience wildlife both up close, and from above.
Elevated on wooden stilts lie just four guest suites, a scenic amble away from the lounge and cocktail bar and a viewing deck swathed in sunlight throughout the day. The conical, mud-plastered central tower adheres to its natural surroundings - resembling a termite mound, topped with a thatched roof.
This camp has been thoughtfully designed by expert architects, and its numerous vantage points give way to some of the most unique sights of nature that can only be experienced at Etosha.
Sink into truly natural surroundings, with the luxuries of state-of-the-art facilities. Camp Kala comes perfectly equipped with private outdoor firepits, outdoor showers and a toasty wood-fired hot tub. It is the ideal setting to relax post-safari, and reflect on the epic sightings of the day.
An armchair safari opportunity comes with a short walk down towards a shaded sala, adorned with a king size daybed, just a stone’s throw from the wildlife action that surrounds.

The Property
An incredibly exclusive property, comprised of just 4 luxury guest suites, joined by raised walkways. The open plan suites are spacious and private with sumptuous twin or king-size beds with newly installed state-of-the-art air cooling systems. Hand-stitched curtains separate the beautiful bathroom with bespoke double vanities, a full-size bathtub and a generous shower from the bed area. Each deck has it's own private wood fired hot-tub for chilly evenings and plunge pool to cool off after a hot day.

Onguma's camp share our values and are involved in progressive initiatives which protect 34,000 ha for local flora and fauna. Additionally, Onguma has run a specific rhino anti-poaching unit. This aims to protect the endangered rhino on the reserve and since it’s inception the incidence of rhino poaching have dropped dramatically.
Onguma also set up the Oshivelo Farming project to create employment for the local community. Unemployment was a real problem around the Etosha region and this 500ha vegetable farm provides permanent employment for 180 workers and another 100 seasonal workers. The farm has become so successful that it has become one of the top five vegetable producers in all of Namibia.
