Your international flight arrives this morning and you are met with our VIP meet and greet service. You are then driven to Nairobi's domestic airport in time for your sechudled light aircraft flight to the Samburu. You are met on arrival at the Samburu airstrip by a representative of your camp or lodge and you are driven to your safari camp where you stay for the next 3 nights on an all-inclusive basis. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure to relax or head out on safari in the afternoon.

Day 2 - On safari in Samburu

Your first full day on safari in the Samburu Reserve. Get involved with a range of activties from cultural visits, day and night game drives, walking safaris and more. The wildlife viewing is always good, and the variety of animals and scenery makes it very different to a classic Big 5 safari. This northern part of Kenya is home to the Samburu tribe, cousins of the Maasai. The Samburu tribal culture has remained in tact and unchanged by the modern world, which is in contrast to the Maasai, and they are proud to share their traditions and culture with intrepid guests.

Day 3 - On safari in Samburu

Enjoy your final full day on safari in the Samburu Reserve. Many guests will be intrigued by their search for the endemic 'Samburu 5' of Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and Somali Ostrich, which can only be found in this particular part of Kenya. The Samburu area is also extremely well known as a walking safari destination, in particular for walking safaris with camels, which is traditional part of the Samburu tribal way of life.

Days 4-6: Masai Mara

Day 4 - Fly Samburu to Masai Mara

This morning you are driven to the airstrip in time for your scheduled light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. You are met on arrival at your Masai Mara airstrip and are driven to your safari camp where you stay for the next 3 nights on an all-inclusive basis. You can head out on your first safari activity in the Mara this afternoon to begin your search for the Big 5.

Day 5 - On safari in the Masai Mara

Enjoy your first full ay on safari in the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is one of the best 'Big 5' safari areas in all of Africa. The range of camps inside the reserve and in the outlying conervacies makes this a great option for first timers, migration followers and experienced safari lovers alike. Most safari camps and lodges include shared day game drives and nature walks as the core safari activities. At some camps it is also possible to enjoy night game drives, more comprehensive walking safaris, riding safaris and hot air balloon safaris: all of which are typically optional extras which you can add in to personalise your safari experience.

Day 6 - On safari in the Masai Mara

Another full day on safari in the incomparable Masai Mara. The Mara is a fantastic year-round safari destination with especially clear game viewing in the long dry season months, July to October, and beautiful touches of green to the scenery in the shoulder and rainy seasons. The migration is typically in the Masai Mara during the long dry season months as well, which makes it a traditionally excellent time of year to go on holiday in Kenya.

An interesting fact about the Masai Mara is that it contains one of the highest densities of lions anywhere in the world and yet you can see Maasai tribesmen grazing their cattle in the surrounding land: making it easy to see why human/wildlife conflicts occur as cattle and predators roam side by side.

Day 7: Fly home

Day 7 - Fly home

Today you are driven back to the airstrip and return to Nairobi on your scheduled light aircraft flight. You will be met on arrival at Nairobi Wilson and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International to connect with your return international flights.
