Luxury Kenya Safaris
Kenya safari: Big skies and classic game viewing
Kenya feels open and cinematic. The Masai Mara hosts great wildlife concentrations and wide horizons. Amboseli lays elephants against Mount Kilimanjaro, while Laikipia’s conservancies balance habitat and community. Nairobi adds museums and urban nature. Rift Valley lakes teem with birdlife, and the north holds rugged beauty. Coasts to the south and north bring swaying palms and coral seas. Evenings are peaceful and starlit.

When to go to Kenya
Warm and mostly dry, ideal for safari and coast. Excellent wildlife in the Mara and calm beach days on the south coast.
One of the best months. Good visibility for game viewing and very pleasant conditions for Diani and Watamu beaches.
Still good for safaris, but humidity and showers start to rise. Nice if you want fewer visitors and lower rates.
Long rains begin, some lodges close, but landscapes are lush and birding is strong. Best for value or photographers.
Rains ease toward the end of the month. Green, quiet, and good for coast stays. Safari possible with flexible plans.
Drying out and very pleasant. Great time to combine Nairobi, Mara and coast before the high-season crowds.
Peak safari season as the Migration starts to arrive in the Mara. Cooler, clear, and very popular. Book early.
Excellent for the Migration and predator action. Cooler mornings. Coast is good, but demand is high.
Still Migration season with fewer people than August. Warm and settled, great for a safari and beach combo.
Dry, warm, and good value. Wildlife still strong in the Mara and coast is lovely. A great shoulder month.
Short rains, but often just showers. Good for birding and lower prices. Best for flexible travelers.
Warm and festive, with some rain. Good for family safaris and time on the beach over the holidays.

Where to go in Kenya
Watch big cats and plains game in the Masai Mara. See elephants beneath Kilimanjaro in Amboseli. Explore Laikipia’s varied conservancies and community projects. Walk Nairobi’s museums and urban parks. Trace lakes and flamingos in the Great Rift Valley. Find rare species in Samburu and the north. Unwind along Kenya’s south and north coasts.
Amboseli
Located in southern Kenya on the border with Tanzania, Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular parks in the country.
Dominated by the majestic snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park provides the quintessential East African safari backdrop. Renowned as the best place on the continent to view free-roaming elephants, this park allows guests to witness massive "tuskers" wading through emerald swamps against the mountain’s silhouette.
Beyond the wildlife, the region offers a profound connection to the local Maasai culture through authentic village visits and guided bush walks. Travelers can retreat to intimate, eco-conscious lodges that prioritize community welfare. Whether capturing the perfect photo or enjoying a sundowner in the bush, Amboseli delivers a scenic and culturally rich escape without compromising on luxury.
Great Rift Valley
The Great Rift Valley is a natural masterpiece. Stretching 6000km across the Middle East and Africa, it is one of the largest geographical marks on the continent and among Kenya’s most iconic sites.
Slicing through the continent, the Great Rift Valley creates a dramatic corridor of towering escarpments and shimmering lakes. This geological wonder offers a diverse safari experience that perfectly complements the open savannahs.
At Lake Nakuru, guests can witness glorious flocks of flamingos and track endangered black rhinos in a protected sanctuary. Just south, the freshwater haven of Lake Naivasha invites travelers to drift past submerged hippos on boat safaris or walk freely among giraffes on Crescent Island. Home to historic farmhouses and luxury lodges, this region provides a serene and scenic interlude, blending rich colonial history with vital conservation efforts for a truly restorative escape.
Kenya North Coast
Venture to the Kenya North Coast and discover ancient culture, sweeping sand dunes and colourful coral reefs.
On the eastern coast of Kenya, just north of Mombasa, lies the idyllic paradise of the North Coast. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches, this sub-destination offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Spend your days exploring the nearby marine parks, where you can snorkel with colorful fish and spot dolphins playing in the waves. Or, for a more leisurely pace, take a stroll along the white sands and soak up the warm African sun. As the sun sets, indulge in a luxurious stay at one of the many high-end resorts that dot the coastline.
For US-based couples seeking a unique and rejuvenating experience, the North Coast provides the perfect escape. With its stunning landscapes and tranquil atmosphere, it's the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Plus, with easy access to nearby cultural sites and a strong focus on sustainability, this sub-destination offers a deeper understanding of the local culture and community. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, the North Coast of Kenya has something for every traveler.
Kenya South Coast
Experience the pristine beaches of the Kenya South Coast as part of your private & luxury tailor made Kenya holiday.
The Kenya South Coast offers a blissful conclusion to any safari adventure, dominated by the pristine white sands and turquoise waters of Diani Beach. Far more than a beach destination, this region invites exploration of the lush coastal rainforests in Shimba Hills National Reserve, home to elephants and the rare sable antelope.
For a marine perspective, set sail on a traditional dhow to spot dolphins in the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. Visitors can unwind in exclusive boutique resorts that blend Swahili heritage with modern luxury. Committed to marine conservation and community welfare, this coastal paradise provides a restorative and meaningful escape where Indian Ocean relaxation meets authentic African culture.
Laikipia
The vast Laikipia Plateau is one of Kenya's premier wildlife destinations
Stretching north from Mombasa, the Kenya North Coast offers a secluded sanctuary defined by ancient history and pristine marine wilderness. Distinct from the bustling south, this region is anchored by the UNESCO-designated Watamu Marine National Park, a globally recognized haven for green turtles and vibrant coral reefs.
Beyond the turquoise waters, travelers can explore the mysterious Gede Ruins, a 12th-century Swahili city hidden in the jungle, or track rare birdlife in the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest. Guests retreat to exclusive private villas and eco-chic boutique hotels that prioritize sustainability. This is a destination where barefoot luxury meets rich heritage, providing a tranquil and culturally immersive finale to your East African adventure.
Masai Mara
Arguably, the world's greatest safari destination, the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the best game viewing areas in Africa, and home to the Big Five.
Globally recognized as the quintessential safari destination, the Masai Mara invites travelers to witness the drama of the African bush on a grand scale. This landscape of rolling golden savannahs sets the stage for the Great Migration and offers unrivaled Big Five sightings.
For a more exclusive experience, the surrounding private conservancies provide seclusion away from the crowds, allowing for night drives and guided bush walks not permitted in the main reserve. Whether drifting over the plains in a hot air balloon at sunrise or visiting a local Maasai community, guests enjoy a seamless blend of world-class wildlife viewing and cultural immersion, all while resting in eco-luxury camps that champion conservation.
Nairobi
Most visitors to Kenya arrive into Nairobi and immediately head to the national parks or the coastline.
Far more than a logistical stopover, Nairobi is a dynamic metropolis where urban sophistication meets raw wilderness. As the only city in the world containing a national park, it offers the surreal experience of photographing black rhinos and lions against a modern city skyline.
Cultural immersion awaits in the leafy suburb of Karen, home to the heartwarming David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the famous Giraffe Centre. Here, guests can connect with conservation history before retiring to colonial-style boutique hotels. With its vibrant artisan markets and world-class culinary scene, Nairobi delivers a polished and exciting prelude to the bush, ensuring your safari begins the moment you land.
Northern Kenya
A journey to the remote reaches of one of Kenya’s least explored regions feels like stepping back in time.
Far removed from the well-trodden safari circuits, Northern Kenya offers a raw and dramatic wilderness defined by red-earth plains and ancient volcanic formations. This rugged terrain is the domain of the unique 'Samburu Special Five,' including the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra, which cannot be found elsewhere.
Beyond the wildlife, the region invites deep cultural engagement with the semi-nomadic Samburu people, whose ancient knowledge enhances every guided walk. For a change of pace, guests can explore the forested peaks of the Matthews Range on foot or horseback. Staying in exclusive community-owned conservancies ensures your luxury retreat directly empowers local stewardship, offering a quiet and meaningful escape into Africa’s untamed north.
Samburu
Samburu National Reserve is located northeast of Laikipia in northern Kenya. It covers an area of just 165km² and its relatively small size means that your game drives focus on spotting wildlife, rather than driving long distances in search of animals.
Centered around the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu National Reserve presents a dramatic landscape of arid scrub and riverine forests. This distinct ecosystem attracts massive herds of elephants and hosts the rare Samburu Special Five, including the long-necked gerenuk and Somali ostrich, which are seldom seen elsewhere.
The reserve offers a serene alternative to the busier southern parks, allowing for intimate game viewing and authentic interactions with the colorful Samburu people. Guests can retreat to luxurious lodges perched along the riverbanks, enjoying exceptional comfort while supporting vital community conservancies. This is a destination defined by its rugged beauty, unique biodiversity, and deep cultural heritage.

"We have planned a leopard searching safari, we received the most accurate indications to find them. [...] We stayed in Kafunta and Three Rivers in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, then moved to Umkumbe and Kambaku in South Africa. All this was seamless, made easy for a couple 60+."
"We just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan. From our arrival to our departure, everything was fantastic!
