Facing the Indian Sea, Butiama Beach's unique position to watch not only the humpback whale migrations, but also whale sharks – one of the must-do activities on the Island. You can experience the privilege of swimming with these giants and explore the coral reefs and Chole Island Marine Park.

The ambience here provides an opportunity to relax, whether with romantic sunset cruises, using one of the lodge’s freely available kayaks, go out for a snorkel, head of a lighthouse excursion, have a beachside picnic, or just read in the local lodge library or laze poolside.

Scuba fans can adventure at the Marine Park in Utende, go for a PADI fun dive or also take the PADI certification course whilst spotting hawksbill turtles, sea horses or lion fish.

Sign up for guided tours around Chole Island, a small island that was a harbour for Arabs, Germans and the British for several hundred years, full of ruins and historical buildings.

Guests desiring an uncomplicated getaway, an uncrowded hotel where you will receive friendliness and care, this an unregrettable choice. Although relatively isolated, the lodge does provide free Wi-Fi and modern accommodations for a comfortable stay.
