Set in the less visited part of south west Uganda for Gorillas this stunning accommodation gets you away from the crowds of Bwindi and into the lush forest on the slopes of Mgahinga National Park. Recently undergoing a full refurbishment, the gorgeous nine bandas all offer luxury and comfort whilst you explore the volcanoes.
Nestled at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, Mount Gahinga Lodge is a stunning luxury adventure lodge hidden in the southern corner of Uganda. Its rustic charm is inspired by traditional design and building techniques.
This is the perfect base to go gorilla tracking, track the rare golden monkey, climb a volcano, walk through local villages and most of all to share the culture of the Batwa, the oldest inhabitants of the Central African rain forest.

The Lodge
The lodge with its beautiful living room, sunroom and terrace has fantastic views of the volcanoes and the Kisoro valley below.
The luxury bandas reflect the magic of the aesthetic traditions of the Bufimbira people, with their distinct colours. Each Banda has an ensuite luxury shower room, fireplace, and private porch, each authentically designed to resemble African huts and are stylish and comfortable.
This is a no-frills accommodation offering comfort after your long treks, take advantage of your complimentary massage after a long day on the volcano. Relax in the old library room or brand-new sun-room.
Facilities
A wide range of activities is on offer from this accommodation, not only the amazing experience of Gorilla trekking, but also Golden Monkey treks, Volcano treks or visit the Batwa people and learn some of their amazing traditions. The lodge is equipped with solar panels, and large warm fireplaces to huddle round on those colder evenings.
Dining
Private dining in the main restaurant offers fantastic food often being commented on by guests. Or perhaps organise alfresco dining as you enjoy the stars or hot midday sun. All vegetables and fruits are grown or bought locally supporting the communities and ensuring yummy fresh food!
