Wake up in the glorious sunshine and gear up for your first day out at Piuray Lagoon.

This morning you'll be escorted to the stunning Laguna de Piuray where you'll learn how to prepare a healthy breakfast in a hands-on cooking workshop. Try out the fresh organic produce unique to the Sacred Valley, and sample to see for yourself just why Peru is regarded the culinary capital of Latin America. Following a delicious home-made breakfast paddle out onto the lagoon on your SUP and with our local teacher practice yoga whilst balancing... There's a knack to this so watch you don't fall in! After a little exertion, dive off and activate your circulatory system in the chilly waters. Upon arrival back on the shores an aperitif and a delicious lunch will be waiting for you before you trek up to the terraced viewpoint above.

This evening by an open fire indulge yourselves with a massage and head back to your hotel relaxed and sleepy after sunset.

This morning you are free to relax and make the most of your lodges wonderful facilities.

In the afternoon you will check-out, and be collected by your driver and taken deeper into the valley. On the way to Machu Picchu Pueblo, or Aguas Calientes, you will stop off at the historical village of Ollantaytambo. This is the only village in the Sacred Valley that retains its original Inca layout. In 1538, Manco Inca actually defeated the Spanish forces here. Climb up the steep stone steps to admire amazing monoliths that form the deeply historical and cultural Temple of the Sun.

Enjoy a traditional Pachamanca lunch at El Albergue, hidden away in Ollantaytambos train station. Learn about Andean rituals and traditions before catching the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. Here you will be driven up to your lodge which neighbours Machu Picchu. Sanctuary Lodge is the closest you can get to the ancient citadel, and rest up well tonight as early in the morning you will be entering through its gates.

Day 4 - Magnificent Machu

This morning rise at the crack of dawn to be the first soul awake to see sun-dappled Huayna Picchu. Our expert guide will lead you through the Guard House and Sun Gate all the way to the Machu Picchu citadel on a plateau of the mountains. Watch the sun rise over the mist-draped cloud forests and hear the morning calls of endemic bird species of the Andes.

Set off on a guided tour and explore the entire area of magnificent ruins, terraces and grazing alpacas. Marvel at the stunning backdrop of Huayna Picchu and dare to climb up the steep steps to gain a panoramic view of the citadel.

This afternoon head back down for a train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco. You'll arrive in the evening, in time for a sit down meal and relax in your new city lodge for the night.
