This is our secluded outpost on Amantani Island, a craggy isle dotted with Inca ruins and green terraces running right down to Titicaca’s lapping edge. Whilst Amantani is populated by a handful of villagers, the villa is tucked away on its own lookout position fronting straight onto the lake.
The lodge, made almost entirely from paneled wood blends modestly into its natural surroundings. Yet, from up close this villa is a work of artistic luxury. The tiered decking provides ample space to lounge outside under the glorious sun from sunbeds and armchairs to plump beanbags.
From the panoramic glass panelled windows look out onto the crystalline blue waters, a view so enticing it's enough to tempt guests into climbing down the rocks and diving straight in for a cold plunge. Whilst the villa is so perfect you could just lounge around the grounds and gardens during your stay, perhaps commit to a climb up one of the two peaks of Amantani Island - Pachatata and Pachamama to see a truly sublime sunset.
Appreciate the stunning landscape by walking around this small island, and visit villages rehearsing for upcoming fiestas. Get an authentic view into true village life, visit the Uros floating islands or even experience a traditional coca leaf reading led by a Shaman. Experiences are hosted by Oswaldo, a local of Amantani who welcomes guests into his way of life on the island. Spend the day trout fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking or learning traditional cooking techniques.
In the evenings, dine outside or in the lodge. Feel the brisk cold take place from the heat of the day, and watch a spectacular show of stars light the sky. Wrap up and sit out, or watch the stars from the comfort and warmth of the lodge beside the wood burner radiating warmth throughout the room.
