Located on the outskirts of General Carrera Lake, the largest lake in Patagonia, and ahead of 55 acres of private native forest, this Eco-lodge provides an astonishing spectacle of Chilean wilderness.

Mallin Colorado offers the utmost convenience in location, its proximity to Patagonia National Park and the surrounding glaciers and mountains, making it an ideal base for adventure travellers. The virgin landscapes outside your window entice you to explore the 15 km of wooded trails, which meander hillsides and native tree forests, where you can become familiar with native coigues or lengas.

You could journey to the peaks of the tall, on-site forested mountain, which reveals sprawling vistas of the Cordon Contreras Mountain Range and the deep blue of Lake Bertrand. Most impressively, General Carrera Lake’s mesmerising Marble Caves await your exploration, as its pastel tones and smoothly-carved erosion make for the perfect afternoon family boat trip.

The peace and tranquillity introduced by fresh mountain air and the breeze from General Carrera is second to none. This is accompanied by an exceptionally comfortable stay in your private room or cabin. You may wish to spend your evenings in the warm abode of Mallin Colorado’s Club House, its large stone fireplaces and fine-wood tables complementing the homely feel which permeates the lodge.

Top-level hospitality is achieved through a family-run dynamic, as you will find your stay remains unproblematic, welcoming and socially responsible. The lodge’s lack of internet enhances this atmosphere, a digital detox aiding your time spent bonding with your family and with nature.

The Lodge

A rustic-chic style distinguishes the lodge, integrating it seamlessly into its beautiful physical surroundings. Four Cabins and six Rooms are all equipped with awe-inspiring views of the close-by General Carrera Lake, as huge windows allow for abundant light and the accommodations are thoughtfully positioned above the lake. Mallin Colorado only accommodates a maximum of 32 guests at a time, elevating the peaceful solitude felt during your stay here. The cabins are built with reused native wood and heated by wood burners, sustaining a consistent effort towards sustainability whilst also ensuring maximal comfort and a tangible luxury. All of the beds are feather down, bringing you the perfect night’s sleep, especially aided by the gentle nocturnal sounds of the outdoors.Cabins introduce an added layer of luxury through ample space and furnishings and accommodate between four and seven guests, offering separate bedrooms and generous living space. Meanwhile, the private rooms may be your ideal option for a Honeymoon or romantic trip, as a private terrace immerses you and your loved one within the surrounding park of native trees whilst in the comfort of your own private space.

Gourmet, homemade cuisine is offered alongside the warm ambience of the Mallin Colorado Main Lodge, with local and family recipes utilising locally sourced ingredients. A traditional Quincho (Patagonian lamb barbecue) is also offered during your stay, as gauchos prepare the fire and the lamb. A vibrant and sociable atmosphere makes for a lovely evening.
