Set on the gleaming grasslands of the Khwai Private Reserve, one of the best-managed concessions in the Okavango Delta region, Little Sable is surrounded by pristine wilderness.
Sprawling floodplains, riverine woodlands, swaying grasslands, and lilly-lined waterways provide a beautiful backdrop for your Khwai safari experience.
The camp is also set in the middle of some of the greatest game-viewing areas on the continent, bordered by the Savuti region in the north, Moremi Game Reserve in the south, and the Khwai Community Reserve in the east.
The rich landscapes attract a diverse abundance of wildlife, and you can head out on morning, afternoon and evening game drives to spot large herds of elephants and buffalos, zebras, giraffes, big cats, hippos, crocodiles and rarer species, such as the African wild dogs, sables and roan antelopes, and honey badgers.
Take to the winding waterways of the Khwai in a mokoro (dugout canoe) or venture out on a boat trip. You’ll get a closer look at the animals gathered around the water, and spot scores of birdlife, including giant eagle owls and lilac-breasted rollers.
The stunning landscapes and wildlife are a photographer’s paradise, and Little Sable has a resident photo guide who will take you out in specially-adapted photographic vehicles.
Little Sable has eight Meru-style tents with plush King-size beds (or twin beds), en-suite bathrooms with indoor showers, writing desks and private verandas with panoramic views across the swaying grasslands. While the tents are intimate retreats, the sunken lounge and firepit are the focal point of the camp, where guests gather to observe the passing wildlife.
A sunken lounge and firepit, dining and bar areas, and a swimming pool.
You’ll stay at Little Sable on a full-board basis, with excellent meals served in stylish dining areas.
Little Sable is part of the Natural Selection group, which supports a number of projects in the Khwai Area. They’ve partnered with the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust to preserve the leopard population in the region and have also teamed up with Round River Conservation Studies to collect important data on large herbivores for the reserve’s game monitoring and conservation project.
