Luxury Zambia Safaris
Zambia: Rivers, falls, and open plains
Zambia feels untamed and genuine. The Zambezi carves wide valleys, Victoria Falls roars in mist and light, and wildlife thrives in remote parks. Safari life here is immersive, with walking, canoeing, and unhurried drives led by expert guides. It is wild Africa, quietly confident and full of wonder.

When to go to Zambia
The height of the wet season. Some camps close due to rain, but Victoria Falls is at its most powerful, and birdlife is spectacular across the wetlands.
Still wet, but lush and beautiful. Great for photographers and birdwatchers, though road travel in some areas can be limited.
Rains start to ease, revealing green landscapes and cooler days. A transitional month with stunning light and fewer tourists.
Clearer skies and comfortable weather return. Victoria Falls remains dramatic, and early safaris begin reopening in the south.
The start of the dry season. Warm, clear days and excellent wildlife viewing as the bush begins to thin.
Cool mornings, dry air, and prime safari conditions. Excellent for walking safaris in South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi.
Peak season with excellent game viewing, clear skies, and pleasant daytime temperatures. Camps are fully open, and conditions are perfect.
One of the best months for safaris. Wildlife is concentrated along rivers, and nights remain cool and comfortable.
Hotter days, but still dry. Ideal for photography, predator sightings, and the Lower Zambezi’s river-based activities.
Very hot and dry, but outstanding for wildlife, especially near water. Great for experienced safari travelers.
The first rains bring relief from the heat and vibrant green back to the bush. Excellent birding and transitional safari opportunities.
Wet season returns. Victoria Falls is strong again, and while some parks close, it’s a peaceful and scenic time to visit.

What our customers say
"Our African adventure in Feb. 2025 was beautifully planned and orchestrated by Wayfairer. [...] We cannot thank the team at Wayfairer enough for bringing this bucket list trip of a lifetime to fruition for us. "
"My wife and I agreed that our holiday in Cambodia was without doubt the best we have ever had. [...] It was the absolute brilliance of the staff of the company at every level [...] and when due to a travel delay, caused by extreme weather, rearranging and supporting us in a way that actually enhanced our holiday!"
"We have planned a leopard searching safari, we received the most accurate indications to find them. [...] We stayed in Kafunta and Three Rivers in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, then moved to Umkumbe and Kambaku in South Africa. All this was seamless, made easy for a couple 60+."
"We just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan. From our arrival to our departure, everything was fantastic! [...] The itinerary was great and having guides for most of our excursions made everything so much more enriching. [...] If they could figure out a way to instantly cure jet lag, they’d get a sixth star."
"We've just returned from a six night safari in Samburu National Park and Ol Pojeta Conservancy. [...] The before and aftercare was also very thorough and Aggie and Toon were so friendly. [...] It was worth every penny we paid."
