Days 1 - 4: Masai Mara

Day 1 - Arrive in Nairobi & fly to the Masai Mara

We offer a ‘meet and greet’ service on all our luxury Kenya holidays. As soon as you disembark from your international flight, you will be met by a representative and escorted through immigration, customs and baggage collection. Your representative will remain with you until you meet your driver in the arrivals area. Your driver will then transfer you to Wilson Airport (domestic airport) where you’ll board a light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival to the Masai Mara you will be met by a representative and driven to your Leopard Hill Camp, enjoying a game drive en-route.

Day 2 - Safari in the Masai Mara

Your days will typically start with a morning game drive exploring the plains and forests of the Masai Mara. This iconic reserve is regarded as one of the best wildlife viewing destinations in Africa and it is renowned for its big cats, with lion, leopard and cheetah all in abundance. You’ll also see large herds of zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo and elephant, as well as hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks. 

After your morning game drive you’ll return to camp for a delicious lunch and a siesta before your afternoon game drive. On a late-afternoon game drive, your driver and guide may stop the vehicle on the plains and set up a small table and director’s chairs, so you can sit and enjoy a drink as you watch the sunset. 

This evening you’ll dine with other guests. You’ll sit around a large communal table and the main topic of conversation will undoubtedly be of your incredible wildlife sightings during the day. Tonight, roll back the skylight over your bed and sleep under the stars with the sounds of the African savannah lulling you to sleep.  

As well as game drives there are a number of other activities that you can participate in during your time in the Masai Mara, including cultural visits to Masai villages and markets, guided bush walks, horse riding, and unique black rhino tracking experiences. To make this the ultimate safari honeymoon-to-remember, you may even wish to take a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara, before enjoying a sumptuous champagne breakfast on the plains. 

 

Days 5 - 11: Zanzibar

Day 5 - Fly to Zanzibar & transfer to Baraza Resort

This morning you’ll have time for one final game drive before an early lunch at camp and afternoon flight to Nairobi. When you land in Nairobi, you’ll be met and driven to the international airport to meet your evening flight to Zanzibar. 

Upon arrival at Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) you’ll be met by a representative and driven to Baraza Resort & Spa, where you will stay for the next seven nights in a romantic, luxury Ocean Front Villa.

Days 6 to 11 - Explore Zanzibar

Today you can relax and enjoy your first full day on the tropical islands of Zanzibar. 

Spend your time lounging on the soft white beaches with a cocktail or coconut and take a dip in the stunning crystal clear waters. Baraza also offers a stunning swimming pool, private beach loungers and excellent spa facilities. 

During your stay you can spend a day to visiting historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a former spice trading port. The town is brimming with history and a melting pot of cultures, with a unique blend of Swahili, Arabic, Persian, Indian and European influences found in the architecture and cuisine. Explore the maze of winding alleyways, filled with colourful bazaars selling clothes, spices and trinkets. Discover the ancient stone houses, carved wooden doors, Arabian arches, latticed windows and overhanging balconies. There are several cultural places of interest including the Portuguese Fort, the old Dhow Port, the Old Slave Market, the Sultan's Palace, the House of Wonders, Livingstone House, the Hamamni Baths and the Persian Baths of Kidichi. 

You can also visit Prison Island, Mnarani Turtle Sanctuary, exotic spice plantations, and Jozani Forest which is home to the Red Colobus Monkey. You can also go on reef and dolphin safaris, mangrove forest and dhow trips and take a cultural tour to local villages. There is just so much to see and do on this exciting East African island.

Day 12: Depart from Zanzibar

Day 12 - Depart from Zanzibar

After breakfast this morning you’ll check-out of your accommodation and will be driven to the airport for your flight home.
