A unique treehouse experience in the heart of the Masai Mara
Serian’s ‘The Nest’, is perched out on a limb in a lone Warburgia tree overlooking the Mara River. A mere meander away from Serian and Ngare Serian, it’s the perfect picnic spot after a trek through the bushes, and doubles as a romantic overnight tryst for two.
Set in their very own 1,500 acres of exclusive conservation area sharing a border with the private Mara North Conservancy, there is space and freedom to roam and explore as you wish. A brilliant addition is the newly installed night-vision cameras so you can monitor what happens after dark – perhaps a leopard on the lookout, or a hyena loping along. The night awakens a whole new world of animal interplay.
The Nest
A unique platform perched high in the Warburgia tree sets you up for an exciting night on your own in the wilderness. This is more than just a night on safari this is a whole experience, an adventure of it’s own. Tucked into your comfortable double bed watch the night cam to see the bush come alive as everyone else sleeps.
Furnished with two cosy nest shaped double beds and with plenty of space for additional beds for the kids, this can be a romantic night away or a full family adventure. There is a flush toilet located up on the platform and a lovely bucket shower below. You’ll be kitted out with candlelight and kerosene lamps for your stay, this is an all-weather and rain proof option perfect for a night in-between your stay at Ngare Serian or ‘The Original’.

An authentic and more rustic option for those a little more adventurous, this beautiful treehouse is an all-weather option for you to get a flavour of sleeping in the ‘wild’. Furnished with comfortable beds, a flush toilet and candle-lit evenings this is the perfect getaway. There’s no Wi-Fi here, just a brilliant infra-red light and night camera enabling you to get a sneak preview into the lives of the nocturnal. All activities offered from Serian ‘The Original’ and Ngare Serian are on offer from this property.

Enjoy your meals at The Nest, lovely picnics or dinners under the stars are amazing memories you will create. All food is freshly prepared at the main camps and bought to you, Serian ‘The Original’ has it’s own vegetable garden ‘Shamba’ offering fresh vegetables and herbs for every meal.
How a stay here makes your trip more responsible
Supporting the Mara conservancies is an important part of the conservation within this eco-system. For years unsustainable subsistence farming was driving the wildlife into smaller and smaller pockets – now the tides have turned. With many Maasai communities coming together and leasing their land for tourism the wildlife has come back. Each conservancy works closely with the community in supporting livelihoods, local employment, and together bettering conservation of the land and wildlife.
Serian is involved with many amazing efforts to continue the support of conservation and communities in both Kenya and Tanzania.
