Trip Itinerary

The beauty of Edinburgh

Day 1 - Arrive in Edinburgh

On arriving in Edinburgh, Scotland, a driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Your atmospheric Edinburgh experience begins with a guided walk through the historic Old Town. Your local guide will start the journey at Holyrood Abbey, moving past the Scottish Parliament building, and then on to St Giles’ Cathedral, Greyfriars Kirkyard, and the lively Grassmarket area. The tour includes a visit to the National Museum of Scotland, followed by an hour-long tour of the majestic Edinburgh Castle. Afterward, you'll have free time to explore the city at your leisure with plenty of things to do in Edinburgh.  Guests will stay at The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh in a Classic room for two nights.

Day 2 - Scotch Whiskey Experience

For a unique experience, work with in-house designers to design your own and personalised tartan. In the afternoon, join expert guides on a journey through Scotland’s whisky regions at the Scotch Whisky Experience. Learn how geography and climate shape the distinctive characteristics of each region's whisky. Explore the vast glass vault containing nearly 3,500 bottles of rare Scotch whisky and enjoy a dram of single malt or blended Scotch whisky. Take home a souvenir crystal tasting glass. Head back to your hotel, The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh in the evening.

Day 3 - Explore St Andrews

After a delicious breakfast, head to Stirling Castle where you will experience a private guided tour, exploring the Renaissance Royal Palace, the Great Hall, Chapel Royal, and medieval kitchens. Afterwards, enjoy some free time exploring and for lunch before travelling through the Scottish countryside to St Andrews, where you can explore the town at your leisure or join an optional guided tour.

Optional tour:

Take a guided walking tour of St Andrews, renowned as the "home of golf" and visit landmarks such as St Andrews Cathedral, St Andrews Castle, The Old Course, and the University of St Andrews. Guests will stay at The Old Manse of Blair in Stable Snugs.

Day 4 - Aberfeldy, Highland Safari

Today guests will embark on an exclusive Land Rover safari through the Scottish Highlands, guided by your personal guide. Tailor the adventure to your preferences, whether driving yourself or letting your ranger lead the way. Along the journey, you might spot red deer, grouse, mountain hares, or golden eagles as you traverse forests, mountains, and moors. A traditional mountain bothy will serve as the setting for a tea break, featuring local Kenmore shortbread and Dewar's Whisky. The safari includes a delicious lunch with two glasses of wine or beer. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely afternoon in Pitlochry.

Day 5 - Inverness

Your next stop is Inverness, cruise along the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness on a three-hour tour, following in the footsteps of Queen Victoria. Departing from Clansman Harbour, enjoy views of Aldourie Castle, Bona Lighthouse, and Urquhart Castle. Disembark for a one-hour visit to the ruins of Urquhart Castle, which date back to the 13th century. Learn about the history of Loch Ness, including stories about the famous Loch Ness Monster. In the afternoon, savor a gourmet picnic on the shores of Loch Ness, complete with seasonal delicacies, wine, and desserts. End the day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last pitched battle on British soil. Meals are not included. Return to your hotel The Old Manse of Blair in Stable Snugs.

Day 6 - Pitlochry, Highland Chocolatier

Today, you will visit the Highland Chocolatier in Pitlochry to meet master chocolatier Iain Burnett. Learn about his award-winning chocolates, enjoy a five-piece tasting, and take home a nine-piece chocolate box. Afterward, travel to The Boathouse for lunch, followed by a 1.5-hour canoe trip on Loch Tay, exploring the history and wildlife of the area. Breakfast is included. Guests will stay at Crossbasket Castle

Day 7 - Glasgow to Edinburgh

In Glasgow, begin your day exploring the historic and cultural landmarks of the West End, including The Kelvin Hall, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, and Kelvingrove Park. Continue to the University of Glasgow and Ashton Lane before ending at The Clydeside Distillery for a whisky tasting experience. In the evening, attend the Spirit of Scotland Show in Edinburgh, featuring traditional Scottish music, dance, and the ceremonial presentation of haggis. Meals are not included. Your accommodation will be at The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh in a Classic room.

Day 8 - Departure Home

Wave goodbye to London this morning before you head on a swift transfer to the airport. The final drive past the city's avenues and hidden streets leaves you with a bittersweet feeling and a certainty of your return.
