When to go to United Kingdom
Cold, short days, but very quiet. Ideal for London museums, theatre, and staying in country hotels with fires and good food. Scotland can be snowy and dramatic.
Still winter, but with clearer days. Good for city breaks, whisky tours, and coastal walks on bright days. Very good rates outside school holidays.
Spring begins. Daffodils, lambs, and longer days make it a lovely time for the Cotswold, Bath, and Scottish Lowlands. Weather can change quickly.
Green, fresh, and mild. Gardens open, castles look beautiful, and it is easier to tour before summer visitors arrive. A strong shoulder month.
One of the best months. Long daylight, blossom, and comfortable temperatures. Perfect for scenic rail journeys, walks, and heritage sites.
Early summer with long evenings. Great for the Lake District, Scottish Highlands, and coastal England. Popular, but not yet at July levels.
Peak summer. Warm, busy, and full of festivals and events. Best for families, multigenerational trips, and coastal holidays.
Similar to July, with Edinburgh festivals in full swing. Book early for Scotland. Good weather for countryside and coastal stays.
Softer light, fewer crowds, and often very pleasant weather. Ideal for couples’ trips and slower touring.
Autumn colors in parks and forests. Cooler, but beautiful for photography, pub lunches, and quieter city visits.
Short days and early dark, but very atmospheric. Best for culture, London shopping, and cosy rural inns.
Festive and cheerful. Christmas markets, lights, and plenty of indoor things to do. A good winter break if you are not expecting sun.

Where to go in United Kingdom
In England, visit historic towns and rolling countryside. Wales brings Snowdonia trails, castles, and coastal paths. Scotland offers island ferries, whisky heritage, and mountain views. Northern Ireland features the Giant’s Causeway, lively Belfast, and quiet glens. Each nation adds its own accent to the journey.
England
England tours with Wayfairer transport you around the country's cities with burst with life, its archaic ruins, medieval streets and the incredible cultural centres.
Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds represents the timeless vision of the English countryside. Just a short drive from London, this rolling landscape is defined by its honey-colored limestone villages, ancient beech woods, and verdant river valleys.
The region invites leisurely exploration, from rambling along scenic footpaths to spotting rare birdlife in the wildflower meadows. Life here follows a gentle rhythm, perfect for wandering through historic market towns or enjoying a local ale in a thatched tavern. Staying in converted manor houses or intimate boutique coaching inns, guests experience a refined and peaceful immersion in rural heritage and community-led conservation.
Northern Ireland
Wander the mystical landscapes and vibrant streets on a Northern Ireland trip with Wayfairer, combining luxury with natural beauty.
Renowned for its mythical landscapes and warm hospitality, Northern Ireland offers a compact yet spectacular journey. The experience is anchored by the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway, where thousands of interlocking basalt columns create a geological masterpiece along the rugged coast.
Beyond the stones, the Causeway Coastal Route winds past the romantic cliffside ruins of Dunluce Castle and world-class links golf courses like Royal Portrush. In Belfast, a city transformed, visitors can explore the poignant history of the Titanic Quarter or enjoy traditional music in Victorian-era pubs. With luxurious manor house hotels and a burgeoning culinary scene, Northern Ireland provides a fascinating and refined cultural immersion.
Scotland
Trips to Scotland introduce you to an incredible realm of mountainous scenery, glistening lakes and communities with an unbounding spirit.
Defined by mythic grandeur and untamed beauty, the Scottish Highlands offer a landscape of brooding mountains and shimmering lochs. This is a realm where history is etched into every glen, from the haunting peaks of Glencoe to the ethereal Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye.
Travelers can embark on one of the world's greatest road trips along the North Coast 500 or board the Jacobite steam train to cross the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. The experience is deepened by tasting fine single malts at historic distilleries and spotting red deer on the heather-clad moors. Staying in converted castles ensures a majestic and atmospheric immersion into the heart of Scotland.
Wales
Embark on a magical Wales tour and experience a land defined by beautiful countryside, high-peaking mountains and enchanting, quirky towns.
With more castles per square mile than anywhere else on Earth, Wales creates a landscape steeped in myth and rugged grandeur. This Celtic nation offers a distinct cultural identity defined by its ancient language and deep-rooted history. Adventure awaits in the soaring peaks of Snowdonia National Park or amidst the cascading waterfalls of the Brecon Beacons.
Travelers can experience the romance of a bygone era on historic steam railways that wind through the countryside or explore the dramatic Pembrokeshire Coast. Far from the crowds, Wales invites a slower pace of life. Guests retreat to intimate country house hotels and eco-friendly coastal lodges, savoring local produce and genuine hospitality in a destination that feels both wild and wonderfully welcoming.
From the striking northern peaks of the Scottish Highlands, to the rocky southern shorelines of Cornwall, UK tours never stop giving.

"We have planned a leopard searching safari, we received the most accurate indications to find them. [...] We stayed in Kafunta and Three Rivers in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, then moved to Umkumbe and Kambaku in South Africa. All this was seamless, made easy for a couple 60+."
"We just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan. From our arrival to our departure, everything was fantastic!
