Why we love it

The Lounge Bar offers a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits and a fantastic cocktail menu. We recommend heading to the Lounge and Bar in the early evening, ordering an arrack sour, Amanwella’s signature cocktail, and enjoying the spectacular sunset panoramas.

How this resort makes your trip more responsible

Amanwella is committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. The hotel was designed in a way which ensured minimal impact on the natural environment, and it was built by workers from the local community using materials from the local area. The hotel’s contemporary design has touches of Sri Lankan craftsmanship, such as the beautiful wooden sliding shutters in the suites. All food at Amanwella is locally sourced, which supports the local community and helps keep local farmers and fishermen in business. The Restaurant’s menu features fresh fish and seafood that comes straight from the fishermen’s boats, and all fruits, vegetables and spices are bought at local markets.
