10 Days Cape Town, Kruger, Victoria Falls

Enjoy the highlights of Southern Africa with Cape Town, Kruger National Park and Victoria Falls

Flying into Cape Town is a magical feeling. Table Mountain looms above the fascinating city that is surrounded by an incredible coastline and gorgeous scenery. After exploring the city and its surrounding areas you fly up to the Greater Kruger ecosystem for a 'big 5' safari experience in one of the conservancies that surround the National Park. You then fly from the Kruger region directly to Victoria Falls which, in our opinion, is the most spectacular natural wonder on the planet. Whether you want to stroll in the rainforest that surround the Falls, or take on white water rafting down the rapids that form its gorge, you are certain to love your experience.

What’s included:

Trip Itinerary

Days 1-3: Cape Town

Day 1 - Touch down in Cape Town
View of Cape Town, South Africa

Welcome to Cape Town! This dynamic and beautiful city will not disappoint. We will give you the option of hiring a car for your three night stay in the city in which case this is when you will collect your keys. If you wish to use transfers and explore the city in more organised tours then you will be met by a Wayfairer representative and driven to your hotel. We recommend a bed and breakfast basis so that you get the chance to experience Cape Town's incredible food and drink scene.

Day 2 - At leisure in Cape Town

You will spend 3 days exploring Cape Town and enjoying the comforts of your hotel. The city itself offers a fantastic array activities and day trips with the option of a city tour being arranged. This is a great way to see the top attractions through the eyes of a local - Cape Town is full of surprises and has a fascinating history.

Day 3 - At leisure in Cape Town

As well as an organised tour, Cape Town is also a city that offers you the opportunity to explore on your own accord. From a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain to tasting seafood at one of the city's incredibly trendy food markets, you will never be short of things to do. With the freedom of a hire car you can also explore the Cape Peninsula, including a visit to the penguins at Boulders Beach and some wonderful view points along the coastal highway to Cape Point.

Days 4-6: Greater Kruger

Day 4 - Fly to the Greater Kruger
Leopard walking towards camera, Kruger National Park

This morning you will wave goodbye to Table Mountain and make your way to Cape Town airport to board a domestic flight to the Greater Kruger region. On arrival will be met by a lodge representative and enjoy a game drive en route to the lodge. Arriving in time for a late lunch you will have the chance to rest and prepare for your first game drive that afternoon. After marvelling in the Kruger's fantastic wildlife and enjoying a sunset drink overlooking the conservancy, you return for a sumptuous dinner under the stars and your first night in the African bush.

Day 5 - On safari

A typical day on safari will include an early morning game drive, a picnic breakfast in the bush, relaxing by the pool before a lovely lunch and then an afternoon safari activity. The early morning drives are brilliant for trying to see the big cats in action and is fantastic for photographers. The Greater Kruger region is renowned for incredible leopard sightings and has a healthy population of rhino along with wild dog, lion, elephant and hundreds of other species.

Day 6 - On safari

Enjoy your final day on safari. The lodges have been chosen with you in mind and we know that it is just as important to relax by the pool or on your private deck overlooking the bush as being out on game drives or bush walks. As with the whole of the country, the food and wine are of the highest standards and you will be treated to top class service throughout your stay.

Days 7-9: Victoria Falls

Day 7 - Fly to Victoria Falls
Day 7 - Fly to Victoria Falls Listing Image

This morning you will enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge before making your way back to the airport and boarding the short flight to Livingstone, on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. You will be transferred by a lodge representative to your lodge on the mighty Zambezi River in time for a late lunch. The welcome party tends to be dominated by the grunting of hippos in the river and your fantastic accommodation, set upstream of the Falls, is the perfect base camp for exploring the area.

Day 8 - Exploring Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is a true bucket list destination. The mighty Zambezi river plummets 100m down into a series of mighty gorges. This is a geological masterpiece and a sign of what nature is capable of producing. The falls are named 'the smoke that thunders' by the Tonga tribe due to the spray that is produced from such a huge amount of water and flanked by a lush rainforest as well as some brilliant national parks. Wildlife is abundant in the area; expect to see raptors soaring above the gorges, hippo, elephant, crocodiles in the river and if your really lucky clawless otters on the riverbanks.

Day 9 - Exploring Victoria Falls

The abundance of activities on offer from you lodge will certainly keep you busy whilst at the Falls. Bungee jumping, white water rafting, kayaking, fishing, and many more water based activities are possible. However, this is not just an adrenaline junkie's playground and you can happily spend your days at a slower pace with lovely nature trails through the rainforest that surround the mighty waterfall, tranquil sundowner boat trips or simply relaxing at the lodge.

Day 10: Fly home

Day 10 - Fly home

Today you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge before being transferred back to Livingstone Airport and boarding a flight to Johannesburg in time to catch your international flight home.
