Days 1 - 3: Okavango Delta

Day 1 – Arrival in Maun and transfer to Kwara

Today you arrive at Maun (MUB) and connect to your light aircraft flight through to Kwara airstrip. Enjoy this flight as you head down low across the stunning Okavango Delta landscape beneath you. On arrival, you will be met and transferred through the Kwara concession, the last short distance to Kwara Camp.

Kwara Camp overlooks a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta, its unobtrusive structure blending into the surrounding beauty of this exclusive concession. Nestled under towering trees, Kwara’s location is convenient to expansive dry grasslands, as well as permanent waterways, and this translates as year-round water and land activities. Intimate and unassuming, the camp offers a luxury and romantic experience in a sublime wildlife area.

Canvas and wood tents are built on raised platforms and enjoy superb views over the lagoon. Enjoy day and night game drives through the reserve, and boating and mokoro trips in search of the Delta’s wild inhabitants. At the end of a busy day, socialise around a campfire, the sounds of the bush an accompaniment to shared experiences.

Day 2 & 3 – On safari in Kwando concession

You have two full days to enjoy your intrepid safari in the Kwando concession.

As the African sun takes its toll on the land, drying up the water sources, the riverfront becomes a thrilling hub of activity, the waterways of the Okavango Delta drawing the inhabitants with its promise of sustenance. During the cooler months (May to October), the elephant herds are more noticeable in the drier terrain. In summer, the scenery comes alive with birdlime, bright colours and myriad calls providing enthusiastic birders with plenty to keep them occupied.

As old as time, the seasonal flood from the Angola Highlands has formed the heartbeat of Botswana. Seeping along the panhandle and into the largest inland delta system in the world, the water creates a uniquely beautiful National Heritage Site, the incoming tide of life bringing with it birth, transformation and replenishment. These ancient, cyclical changes provide an exceptional safari experience, and the area supports vast herds of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as numerous antelope, giraffe, zebra and the ever-present predators.

A mokoro trip is a fantastic way to experience the wonders of the Okavango Delta. In the company of a professional poler with vast experience in the Delta, you will enjoy the sights and sounds of this unique habitat and learn about the waterways and wildlife.

Your stay is inclusive of all activities; game drives, mokoro trips, boat cruises, seasonal fishing and walking safaris. You can head off-road and even on night game drives, which gives you the best chance of seeing predators.

Day 4: Johannesburg

Day 4 – Fly to Johannesburg

You leave this watery wonderland behind today. Connect through Maun and return to Johannesburg. Here you are met and enjoy a private transfer to the gorgeous boutique hotel, The Peech.

The Peech is an eco-chic boutique hotel situated in Johannesburg’s upmarket suburb of Melrose, located within a beautiful garden setting.

Contemporary décor, clean lines and modern art combine in a chic style, and the spacious interiors are equipped for comfort. The colours are muted and consist of tones of grey and white with oak flooring. Luxury rooms have a designer steel screen separating the dressing area from the bedroom, and stackable glass doors open onto a balcony or patio.

You can dine at either the laid-back but chic Garden restaurant or the brilliant Basalt restaurant, which is open to the public. The hotel offers gym access to the local fitness centre, or guests can cool off in one of the two outdoor pools on hot summer days.

This is the ideal location to relax and enjoy a small slice of Johannesburg before continuing on your honeymoon adventure.

Day 6 - 8 – Explore Vilanculos

You have three full days to soak up this incredible beach destination.

Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’, the Bazaruto Archipelago is a much-coveted travel destination in Mozambique. It is known for its white sandy beaches, glistening turquoise waters and some of the best scuba diving in the world.

As one of the largest marine reserves in the Indian Ocean, the archipelago supports over 2000 species of fish, as well as dolphins, whales, turtles and sharks. It also holds the largest population of Dugong in Mozambique.

Kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and beach volleyball are all included in your stay, for you to enjoy at your leisure. If you feel like getting out, head on a guided tour of Vilanculos to explore the shops, bars, local markets and Machilla Magic Arts & Craft Centre, a private snorkelling trip with picnic lunch to Magaruque Island.

This area offers fantastic diving, snorkelling, horse riding, fishing and beach exploration for anyone looking to get busy. Or soak up your gorgeous accommodation, lie by the pool, and enjoy a cocktail and this laid-back luxury.
