Ngare Serian Camp's Positive Impact

Identified as standout properties in Wayfairer’s initial eco-survey, Serian impressed with their standout offerings in luxurious accommodations, top-level guided safaris, incredible local and delicious cuisine, and unique low-impact activities. This combined with their dedication to prioritising environmental conservation and community empowerment, puts Serian at the forefront of responsible, luxury tourism, which is why they have listed in our Gold Collection.

Serian excels in all aspects of sustainable tourism. They recently transitioned to 100% solar energy and have implemented effective waste management systems for water and food. Additionally, they have established Alex Serian’s ‘Conservancy Guardians’, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting community-driven conservation efforts across East Africa. They further employ 85% of staff from the surrounding areas, and source organic produce from their on-site “shamba” to create delicious local dishes created by their dynamic culinary team.
