The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon (also called The Gate Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon by Hulic) is located in the heart of Tokyo, two minutes walk from Asakusa station.
The hotel is directly opposite the dramatic Kaminarimon Gate (Thunder Gate) at the entrance of Sensoji Temple - the city’s oldest temple and one of Asakusa’s most famous landmarks. The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon is also just a short walk from Tokyo Skytree,
This modern and sleek hotel, set in a 14-storey former office block, has 136 rooms all of which offer incredible views of either Sensoji Temple or Tokyo Skytree.
The hotel’s impressive lobby is located on the 13th floor and features ceiling to floor windows overlooking Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree.
The R Restaurant and Bar is also located on the 13th floor and also features ceiling to floor windows, making it a fantastic venue to enjoy a meal or drink, whilst taking in the spectacular views.
The restaurant is open 24 hours a day for hotel guests and serves a combination of Japanese and French food, plus an extensive selection of wine and spirits.
You can sit at the bar, a table indoors, or outside on the terrace, and you can enjoy live piano and jazz performances on selected days of the month.
The 14th floor B Bar and Rooftop Terrace is exclusively for guests staying at the hotel and it is a perfect place to enjoy a beer, cocktail or glass of whiskey against the backdrop of Tokyo Skytree.

The property
The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon has 136 Western-style rooms, all with air-conditioning and a spacious bathroom. Guests can choose from seven room types. The most exclusive is The Gate Suite, which is a twin-bed suite, uniquely designed by the famous Japanese designer Shigeru Uchida, and located on the 12th floor. The 3rd floor premier ‘Balcony’ rooms have the option of either a king size or twin beds, and offer incredible views of Asakusa from the private balconies.
All rooms have comfortable beds with Slumberland mattresses, fridge, tv, Nespresso coffee machine, tea making facilities, pyjamas, bathrobe (available in The Gate, Balcony and Classy rooms), bathroom amenities, plus complimentary WiFi.

Facilities include 136 stylish rooms, a fantastic Restaurant and Bar, plus a Bar and Roof Terrace. There’s also express check-in, express check-out, dry cleaning/laundry services, concierge service, and complimentary WiFi.
