Be astonished by the Moreno Glacier

At the base of the Andes, in the Southern reaches of Argentina, spanning the width of the continent to the shores of the Southern Atlantic Ocean, you’ll find Argentinian Patagonia; a diverse and exciting region with so much to offer.

The country’s famed Lake District lies in the North-Eastern region of Argentinian Patagonia, where the towering mountains of The Andes skirt sparkling lakes and bustling rivers. Base yourself at Bariloche or San Martín and explore the surrounding waterways by bike or kayak, pack a picnic and take a scenic drive through the seven lakes, or head to Nahuel Huapi Lake in the national park to soak up the magic of this tranquil 20-hectare protected forest reserve.

To the West, you’ll find the wildlife-rich Península Valdés, a UNESCO-registered nature reserve made up of sand dunes, wetlands, mudflats and pebble beaches. This important biodiversity hotspot is home to guanacos, rheas, grey foxes, and armadillos on land, and orcas and migratory whales in the water.

You’ll head South to discover postcard Patagonia; starting in Los Glaciares National Park, where you’ll discover the astonishing Fitz Roy Massif and stand in awe of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Travel further South still to the dramatic and rugged landscape of Tierra Del Fuego – the land of fire and ice; a rich and fascinating history seeps into the meandering riverways and rocky mountain paths here.

Covering over 1,000 miles and with a mind-boggling diversity in landscapes, wildlife and activities, it’s no wonder Argentinian Patagonia takes the top spot on so many bucket lists.
