Luxury Vacations to Nairobi

Plan My Trip

The gateway to East Africa, Nairobi is a fantastic starting point for your safari vacation to Kenya

Giraffe_Manor_nairobi_kenya_Breakfast_Giraffes We recommend a stay to the Giraffe Manor Hotel for an incredible encounter feeding giraffes

Embark on an unforgettable trip to Nairobi, where luxury meets urban allure. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), our Wayfairer 'meet and assist' service ensures a seamless transition through immigration, customs and baggage collection into opulence. With a private car and driver at your disposal, immerse yourself in the city's vibrant culture and cuisine or relax in your Nairobi luxury hotel.

Discover Nairobi National Park, where skyscrapers form a stunning backdrop to encounters with lions, giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards and even the endangered black rhino just minutes from the city centre. One of the best things to do in Nairobi is to visit the Giraffe Centre, where you'll experience intimate encounters with endangered Rothschild Giraffes. This is a unique conservation effort within the city limits.

Step into history at the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the author of 'Out of Africa,' and lose yourself in its captivating exhibitions. Whether you linger at the onset or conclusion of your luxury safari trip to Kenya, each moment in Nairobi is adorned with sophistication and splendour.

When to visit Nairobi

Nairobi is at an elevation of 1,795m therefore temperatures tend to be mild year-round. From December to March you can expect average temperatures between 25-28°C during the day and around 13°C at night. During the cooler, dry months from July to early October the average day temperatures range between 21-25°C and drop to around 11°C at night.
Nairobi experiences two rainy seasons - the long rainy season lasts from mid-March to May, whilst the short rainy season is from late October to December. Nairobi can be visited throughout the year – even during the rainy season. The wet weather is unlikely to impact your enjoyment of the city’s top attractions, however if you want to avoid the rain you should visit during the dry months from July to early October or January and February.

Where to stay in Nairobi

We recommend staying in Nairobi’s suburbs as they offer a peaceful contrast to the busy city centre, and they’re a convenient base from which to explore local attractions. Set in the quiet suburb of Karen, Hemingways Nairobi is one of the most luxurious properties in Kenya and we think that this 45-suite boutique hotel is a fantastic option for a pre or post safari stopover. There’s also the famous Giraffe Manor Hotel in Langata suburb where you can feed the resident Rothschild giraffes from your breakfast table.
