An exciting opportunity to start your career in tailor-made travel at a young, dynamic company with flexible working and fantastic travel opportunities.
The role would primarily involve organising bespoke trips to southern and eastern Africa, so any travel in or knowledge of these regions or the safari industry would be an advantage. However, we don't require any previous experience in sales or in the travel industry and we are ultimately looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable individual who is passionate about travel and willing to learn.
The Trainee Consultant role is primarily based in the luxurious Latitude 0 Hotel, Kampala in Wayfairer’s stylish Uganda office. However, you will also have the opportunity to work based in Bristol at Wayfairer’s head office, in a supportive office environment. On top of that, successful candidates will also be invited to work closely with Wayfairer’s Sales Manager in London, shadowing and assisting him to gain experience. You can expect to learn how to build bespoke itineraries, gain specialist knowledge of our destinations, talk to customers, liaise with suppliers and deal with problems or emergencies that crop up along the way.
We are proud to offer a hybrid, exciting work environment. This is a full-time role split between home and office working. Time in the office isn't expected to be more than 4 days a week initially, with the opportunity to work with complete flexibility after completing a 3-month probationary period.
Although with a focus on sales, we are a small team and the candidate can expect to work across the business including marketing, content writing and administration.
Commission is earned on each holiday sold and is uncapped, there is the potential for the right person to start earning commission immediately.
Founder Tom started Wayfairer having experienced poor wages and working conditions for porters whilst trekking in Tanzania. He committed to starting a travel company which only worked with the most reputable suppliers, who were delivering exceptional services whilst paying local workers a fair wage and in fair working conditions.
As the company grew that commitment to excellence saw the brand develop two key pillars to its ethos: luxury travel and responsible travel. To this day our mission is to offer luxury holidays to our discerning travellers which benefit local communities and conserve nature. We specifically promote local partners, accommodation options and responsible activities so that our holidays are mindful of their environments and fit within our core principles.
