La Petite Ferme is part of a boutique wine estate in South Africa’s Winelands and has incredible views of the Franschhoek Valley and the mountains beyond.
The accommodation is nestled into the vineyards and overlook a small man-made lake, and while the estate is small it produces excellent wine that has won numerous awards.
There is an onsite restaurant serving lunch every day and dinner on weekends only, and the restaurant has three generations worth of knowledge, resulting in many awards and notable mentions worldwide.
There is a wine tasting room and a tapas bistro for those who decide to sample a bottle, and La Petite Ferme hosts regular wine tasting sessions as well as guided tours, so this hotel is perfect for wine lovers.
In addition to the excellent wine and food at La Petite Ferme, the accommodation is unforgettable. Each room has a blend of lavish French and African style. There are a range of rooms and suites to choose from, from private plunge pools to self-catering cottages.
The lakeside cottages boast two bedrooms and the two en suite bathrooms have every little luxury you could imagine. If you are driving through the Winelands, don’t miss La Petite Ferme.

The property
La Petite Ferme has a range of rooms with different styles and features. The main Manor house suites share a swimming pool and incredible valley views. Choose from a Bridal suite which is incredibly spacious and romantic, the Verandah suite with double doors opening onto the pool area, La Petite suite, which is notably the smallest room but cute, and the Library suite, which has a separate lounge area and fireplace to relax by. The five vineyard suites are also uniquely decorated with antique furniture and overlook the rows of grapes and the valley beyond. These suites each boast their own private plunge pool with a backdrop of the mountains and are more private thanks to the trees separating the suites.
La Petite Ferme has four lakeside cottages that are perfect for families or friends travelling together. The feature two double bedrooms (with an option for twin beds), and overlook the lake and village of Franschhoek. All the rooms are fitted with air-conditioning, underfloor heating, fireplaces, rain showers, flat screen TVs, toiletries and fully stocked minibars.
Facilities
La Petite Ferme houses a swimming pool, a restuarant & bar and a small wine cellar and holds regular tastings.
Dining
The award-winning restaurant is open for lunch but only serves dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. However, lots of excellent restaurants are nearby in the valley.
