Considered as the third-largest park in the country with a huge variety of ecosystems, iSimangaliso Wetland Park offers unique wildlife viewing. Highlights include calving humpback whales and nesting loggerhead and leatherback turtles between June and November. There is a huge array of birdlife and the option to snorkel and scuba dive off the coast.

The lodge

Lidiko Lodge has 12 cosy double rooms built around a lovely garden courtyard with a welcoming swimming pool at its heart. Styled in an Afro-colonial character, each room has a private entrance and patio that leads onto the pool area. In addition, they are each are-conditioned and have a spacious en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and bath. An extra bed can be added to these bedrooms for those travelling with children.

A thatched rondavel family room accommodates up to three adults or two parents and two children under the age of 12 years and is en-suite with its own private entrance and patio.

A family unit consists of two interleading bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathroom and is perfect for families of four with slightly older children.

Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the landscaped gardens.
