Mountain Gorilla View Lodge sits on the edge of the mighty Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda and is the ideal base for treks to meet the gentle Silverback Gorillas. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge offers 30 spacious chalets in the fertile foothills of Mount Karisimbi.

Each chalet in the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge was constructed with local materials and the lodge was designed to ensure the least possible disruption on the surrounding environment. Each room is fitted with a sitting area, fireplace and en-suite bathroom and rooms are decorated in vibrant Rwandan colours and patterns on the walls.

The chalets are mostly nestled into the forest and the horizon of volcanic mountains is an incredible sight. Being right on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park, the lodge offers easy access to the headquarters where gorilla trekking starts, and the lodge is close to many other activities in the Virunga mountain range.

Local dancers often entertain guests in the evenings, and there is an on-site restaurant and lounge with fireplace to retell stories of daily adventures. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is a lovely property, with phenomenal views of the mountains and surrounded by nature.

The lodge

Mountain Gorilla View Lodge features stone and thatched cottages, which come with either one double bed or two single beds, en-suite bathrooms and outdoor seating areas. While there is no air conditioning, the surrounding nature keeps the rooms cool, and each cottage has a fireplace for those chilly evenings in the mountain range.

Onsite there is a restaurant and a bar, serving homemade, traditional cuisine and local beers, tea and spirits. The grounds surrounding Mountain Gorilla View Lodge encompass 4 acres of garden and forest, and each cottage has been delicately built into nature. Nature lovers will love this property, and it also provides easy access to getting to the entrance of Volcanoes National Park.
