Titilaka Lodge is the most luxurious stay on Lake Titicaca. On a private peninsula, far from any tourist routes, this lodge feels like it’s near the end of the Earth. Huge windows, wooden platforms and daybeds draped with fresh linen all look out onto a vast expanse of blue waters.
To match the supreme natural environment, guests here experience top service and treatment. Welcomed into this fully inclusive lodge, you’re encouraged to stay as if it is your own home and make the most of exclusive excursions across the world’s highest navigable lake’s waters.
Unique experiences offered in Titilaka Lodge give us the opportunity to learn about the region’s distinctive nature, history and culture. Besides exploring the Uros floating islands and the Island of Taquile use this opportunity to set sail from your very own private vessel straight from Titilaka’s boat house and enjoy the lake at your own pace, discovering the nearby ecosystems flourishing along the shores and within the Totora reeds.
From the lodge, set off on a trek and dive into pre-Inca times listening to the legends and stories about Lake Titicaca’s mythological prevalence. Follow the Collca route, part of the original Incan roadway network towards a breathtaking viewpoint of Bolivia’s impressive Royal Mountain Range. Immerse yourself in local festivities taking place year round near the lodge.
This is a lodge offering incredible cultural and natural experiences of one of the world’s most unique destinations, achieved in seamless luxury. The lodge gardens look up onto the Aymara constellations, and the clear skies of this remote spot make Titilaka Lodge a perfect destination for astronomical observations. For birders, visit the protected wetland areas near the lodge home to over 100 species of different migratory and residential birds.
If this is your spot to just recline and relax, let hydrotherapy work wonders from the soothing decking looking out onto the expansive blue. Surrender to your senses and observe this ethereal landscape change hue as you become increasingly immersed in the slower pace of life on the lake’s shores.
The property is a refurbished building on it’s own private peninsula, an hour from Puno. All 18 rooms have superior views overlooking the lake, with different features. The Explorer Room has a king bed, a seating area with banquette overlooking the lake, blackout curtains and heated floors. The Dusk and Dawn Rooms feature two doubles and are either west or east facing, depending on whether you want a sunrise or sunset view over Lake Titicaca, both are equipped with deep freestanding bathtubs, heated floors and blackout blinds. The Corner Room is the premium suite with panoramic windows covering every view of the lake and a gorgeous bathtub which looks out onto the waters.
Everything you could possibly need is available at Titilaka Lodge, despite its remote location. WiFi is fast, and excursions to adjacent cultural, natural and historical sites run daily. Hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, birdwatching, and stargazing are all accessible and invigorating ways to spend the day and evenings. Or treat yourself to a spa treatment, massage or stone therapy at Titilaka Lodge. You are fully catered for in the way of food and drink, so this is a perfect opportunity to relax stress-free for a few days or even weeks on the serene shores.
The fully inclusive service at Titilaka Lodge includes all meals created by Peruvian chef Maria Fé García. The design and the preparation of the food are inspired by the natural surroundings: Lake Titicaca itself. Shaped by ancient Andean traditional methods, and maintaining a deep respect for the land, every ingredient used is mindfully sourced. See how Aymara techniques harmonise beautifully with fine classic cuisines.
At Wayfairer we are incredibly selective with the lodges we chose to partner with. Titilaka Lodge holds responsible, sustainable development at the heart of their philosophy. More than 90% of staff are locals and the property sources food locally. The business model here focuses on conserving Andean traditions.
On a Wayfairer adventure, we ensure that all needs are catered for with a 24hr Luxury Concierge Service, and the most compassionate local guides in each location. Along with our care of clients, we also care deeply for the locations we enter into, respecting these and leaving places unscathed by our visit.
