The Property
The property is a restored 16th century mansion with stone patios, hand-crafted wooden balconies and authentic carvings. There are 26 rooms in Antigua Casona San Blas and three different room types. The ‘Senorial Suites’ have private balconies overlooking Cusco and the lodge’s inner courtyard. The vast beds, warm interior and marble bathroom ensure a comfortable night’s rest.
Facilities
All rooms have in-room WiFi, radiant heating, a flat-screen TV, unlimited hot water, private bathrooms with bath-tubs, all circling around a central patio heated by a huge firepit. The in-house bar serves delicious cocktails, so feel free to sip on a chilcano in the lounging seats circling the central patio. There is a yoga studio and indulgent spa on site too.
Dining
Leading out onto the sunny courtyard, Piedra y Sal is one of Cusco’s top restaurants. Antiguo Casona San Blas’ restaurant is open to the public and guests, and adored by all for its outstanding and vibrant dishes. It is a traditional Peruvian restaurant with locally sourced Andean food. Try the trucha, alpaca or osso bucco, or taste the flavours of the valley with ample vegetarian options such as squash soup, colourful corn, quinoa and an absolutely delicious mushroom kapchi. Imaginatively presented, perfectly cooked and full of flavour.
