This boutique hotel tucked away in one of the most secluded spots in the Sacred Valley lets nature do its thing. The three casitas are minimalistic but luxuriously designed to ensure that a stay here immerses its visitors in nature pure and unadulterated.
Just ten minutes from Urubamba, Andenia Boutique is immersed in the cultural offerings of the Sacred Valley. Within weaving Inca water channels, romantic gardens and embroidered fruit trees, nature is allowed to work its natural healing powers.
The hotel has its own huerta of local fruits and vegetables, and offers homemade goods for breakfast every day. Andenia adopts a holistic philosophy, entirely engaging with the graces of the surroundings in both the outside and the inner interiors all sculpted out of local natural materials and decorated with Peruvian crafts and art.
Learn about artisanal traditions, visit a local village for workshops on dying and weaving, ceramics and chocolate making. Andenia Boutique also specialises in outdoor cooking classes, where the resident chef will teach you the art of pachamanca, stone cooking to create the most hyperlocal flavours.
Natural simplicity is this lodge’s philosophy, it is the opportunity to slow down and appreciate verdant gardens framed by hilltops without the over-the-top flashy distractions of the modern world.
Three adobe casitas overlook the valleys that surround, the hotel only has 9 rooms in total, resulting in a quiet and intimate experience. Andenia Boutique is registered as a ‘design hotel’, credited for its innovative architecture. The property’s designers adopted a wabi-sabi approach, turning to local materials and Peruvian furnishings and artworks. Andenia displays an earthy palette in keeping with the natural environment it is surrounded by, and many of the hangings and ceramics are handmade by local communities.
The bar and terrace are open all day offering Peruvian snacks and beverages, enjoy an extensive buffet breakfast with an a la carte option and make the most of the incredible surroundings. All the bedrooms have large, comfortable beds and balconies overlooking the valley. There are purposefully no televisions in the rooms, however there are iPads available with Netflix should you want to relax in front of something in the evening.
The restaurant provides flavoursome Peruvian classics and international favourites, imaginatively displayed highlighting the virtues of the valley’s produce. Fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in the garden all take precedence in the dishes in Andenia Boutique’s menu, and tours of the local food markets in Urubamba are recommended.
At Wayfairer we are incredibly selective with the lodges we chose to partner with. The Sacred Valley is a precious location with deep-rooted cultural history and incredible biodiversity we wish to treasure, highlight and protect with each visit.
Andenia Boutique Hotel is a truly organic experience of the valley that works alongside the local community to promote positive tourism here. On a Wayfairer adventure, we ensure that all needs are catered for with a 24hr Luxury Concierge Service, and the most compassionate local guides in each location. Along with our care of clients, we also care deeply for the locations we enter into, respecting these and leaving places unscathered by our visit.
