Adults, Couples & Honeymoons
A family-run boutique lodge overlooking Lake Taupo, Acacia Cliffs Lodge is one of the newest lodges around Taupo, designed by New Zealand architect Kelvin Peck to keep the character of the original pole house and make the most of the magnificent lake and mountain surroundings.
From here, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of Lake Taupo (New Zealand’s largest freshwater lake), Mount Tauhara and the Kaimanawa Ranges.
The rooms are designed in a comfortable contemporary style, with a focus on the great outdoor setting. This includes white walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and big sofas to curl up on, as you gaze out at the view.
An exclusive and private luxury lodge, Acacia Cliffs accommodates up to eight guests in four boutique accommodation options, which each feature a private deck with gorgeous views of either the lake or the garden courtyard, stylish décor and en-suite facilities with luxury toiletries. The furniture includes bespoke pieces by Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier.
You certainly won’t be hungry or thirsty during your stay, as guests are treated to a bottle of New Zealand wine upon arrival, pre-dinner drinks and canapes, as well as full breakfasts; all of which provide a great opportunity to sample delicious New Zealand cuisine.
Join friendly hosts Rick and Linda for a chance to experience warm Kiwi hospitality in beautiful surroundings, with unrivalled views of glistening Lake Taupo.
There are three east-facing lakeview suites available, named Kaimanawa, Wharewaka and Parewera; while the Marapa Garden suite captures the warm colours of the afternoon sun and also features a free-standing bath. The exclusive rooms and intimate setting are perfect for couples and honeymooners looing for a romantic getaway. Children over 12 are welcome at the lodge, however if you are travelling with children who are younger, the property requires notice prior to booking in order to confirm suitability and availability, as well as the comfort and privacy of the other guests.
There are a wide range of books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, as well as board games to keep you (or your youngsters) occupied. There are also two mountain bikes available, should you wish to explore the beautiful surrounding on two wheels.
The lodge include sundecks and outdoor garden areas, guest laundry and storage facilities, complimentary use of mountain bikes, as well as books, DVDs and board games.
Rick, one of the hosts at Acacia Cliffs Lodge, has a long history is working in restaurants and in the food and beverage industry (and his lemon tart goes down a treat). Enjoy the complimentary wine, pre-dinner drinks and canapes, as well as the gourmet breakfasts, which can be taken in your room.
This property, owned by a local couple who love travel and food, is the epitome of New Zealand hospitality and a great alternative to a big chain hotel. Enjoy the local cuisine and wines on offer, as well as the conversation; early evening drinks and canapes are designed to get the guests together in order to connect, get to know each other and share travel tips.
