Couples, Families & Honeymoons
In Urdu, dera alludes to a setting for short-term dwelling, which Jaipur's Dera Mandawa seamlessly offers. A short stroll away from the beautified 'Pink City', Dera Mandawa are for those looking for a luxurious stay but with a homey feel. Run by the Singh family, the hotel serves premium Rajasthani hospitality.
Their eight suites offer a calm retreat away from the city's chaos with their central courtyard and lush garden. The décor here is composed of rich colours and traditional Indian furnishings but with all modern amenities.
Take serenity even further by sharing afternoon tea with your travel companion or energising yourself with homemade breakfast meals at the colonially styled courtyard.
Our recommendation is a cup of fragrant masala tea or the chickpea pancakes. If you feel you can't live without knowing how to make these delights, the Singh family also offers cooking classes.
Upon request, traditional Rajasthani gala evenings can be arranged. These gala evenings are filled with music, dance, kite flying, henna art and saree/saafa tying – a night not to forget.
For those looking to explore Jaipur, the accommodation is 15-minutes away from popular attractions such as the City Palace Museum, HawaMahal, Astronomical Observatory, Jantar Mantar and the Railway Station. If you want to do your own self-exploration a cycle rickshaw or day taxi can be arranged.
One of the standout features of this 110-year old property is its Rajasthani architecture, this quaint building has eight suites, all furnished with local accents and featuring modern amenities. The special honeymoon suite features round bed and luxury linen while the bigger suites can accommodate families. All rooms come with air-conditioning, double or twin beds, minibar, dressing room, safety deposit box, electric kettle and a seating area.
Another standout feature is the traditional courtyard in the centre of the property where guests can enjoy a tall glass of refreshing iced tea or eat their home-style Rajasthani lunch. There is also a dining lounge where you’re vegetarian, gluten-free or non-vegetarian breakfast will be served. Meals can also be served at the courtyard and garden area. Upon request, a courtyard gala evening with traditional music and henna art.
Dera Mandawa houses eight suites, one honeymoon suite, a large courtyard, lobby, study and dining room. WiFi is also available throughout the property.
Breakfast is included in your stay, while lunch, dinner & the traditional gala night can be prepared upon request.
Asides from the preservation of this century-old property, the Singh family also makes a strong effort to reduce their carbon footprint. You won’t find plastic bottles being used here and the showers are all solar-powered.
