Cost Per Night
Perfect For

Couples

An authentic mobile camp, Savute Under Canvas has an ever-changing backdrop, moving to different private campsites within the remote Savuti area of Chobe National Park every five days.

Perfect for travellers looking for an adventurous safari, guests will relish the rustic charm of mobile camping, while still enjoying many of the comfortable amenities of a permanent camp, including exceptional service, flush toilets and hot bucket showers.

The secluded campsites provide an intimate experience, set up close to the game-rich areas of Chobe, surrounded by the striking Savuti landscape.

Enjoy classic morning and afternoon game drives through the maze of sandy roads, marked by ancient baobab trees and impressive wildlife. You’ll have the chance to spot giraffe, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, tsessebe, large prides of lion, African wild dog, and massive herds of Chobe’s famous elephants.

The beautiful Savuti Channel and Savuti Marshes offer fantastic birdwatching, particularly from December to March, when flocks of pink pelicans, African spoonbills and yellow-billed storks light up the waterways.

Take a break from game drives to explore the ancient San Bushman rock paintings of the Gubatsa Hills. Estimated to be over 1,500 years old, the vivid paintings depict elephant, giraffe and antelope, and the rich history of the San people.

Why Wayfairer

Savute Under Canvas moves to different private campsites every five days, in compliance with national park regulations, and to preserve this stunning environment. There is no power, and the camp uses hurricane lamps run from solar batteries for lightings. If you need to charge your phones and cameras, you can use the plugs in the 4WD safari vehicles. Savute Under Canvas is part of &Beyond, which partners with the Africa Foundation on community engagement programs with the isolated communities of Tsutsubega and Gogomoga.
