The Classic Zimbabwe holiday itinerary is a brilliant introduction to some of the stunning natural scenery and wildlife on offer. Immerse yourself in this magnificent destination and leave wanting more after encountering the warm hospitality, the abundant wildlife and the breathtaking scenes.

You start by undertaking some self-exploration of Victoria Falls, this UNESCO world heritage site certainly deserves this status as you watch the mighty Zambezi river plummet down from Zambia into Zimbabwe. This is a great location to explore some local culture, take in the beauty of the falls and for those more daring perhaps a bungee jump, a dip in Devils pool or rafting! Alternatively take it slow with a sunset cruise or guided tour of the falls.

Next, it’s off in to the famous Hwange National Park, a short two hours south of Victoria Falls it’s a nice journey easing you into this vast country. The best time to visit is during dry season as the lack of permanent water sources encourages the animals to gather, often at pumped water holes that the animals depend upon. Your lovely accommodation, The Hide has one such waterhole right out front! So, expect some fabulous wildlife wandering past at all times of day. Elephants and Wild dog are particularly prolific in this area, so keep the camera's handy.

Finally, you take a light aircraft journey through to Matusadona National Park and Lake Kariba. This less known National Park is under the management of Africa Parks NGO and is on its way to being fully restored as one of Zimbabwe’s leading safari destinations. The unique combination on offer of ‘bush & beach’ with land safaris and water activities is a brilliant addition to any itinerary and the perfect way to finish this one. Take your time to get out the vehicle and track some wildlife with your brilliant guides or jump in a boat for some world class fishing on Lake Kariba. Alternatively drop into your private hammock and let the world pass you by as you take in the sounds of nature all around you.

Guiding standards are very high in Zimbabwe and you’ll come to love every destination you visit, leaving you wanting more. Be sure you will come back for further exploration of Zimbabwe’s incredible landscapes and wildlife!
