Serra Cafema Camp - An oasis amidst the sand dunes

COST PER NIGHT
PERFECT FOR

Couples, Families & Honeymoon

Serra Cafema Camp is a small, boutique property in the extreme north-west of Namibia, right against the Angolan border.

The only camp for hundreds of miles, Serra Cafema is a place to disconnect from the real world and reset. A stunning camp right in the heart of an incredible expanse of desert, Serra Cafema is an oasis amidst the sand dunes.

While the region is harsh and sparse, the camp is a haven sitting right by rushing rapids of the Kunene River.

There are eight beautiful villas made from canvas and thatch, all with views of the river and bush. The villas come with ensuite bathrooms, comfortable seating areas, ceiling fans and stylish interior design inspired by the Himba tribe.

The outdoor private decks are ideal for morning coffee or relaxing after a day of exploring the remote region of the Hartmann Valley.

One of eight villas is an appointed honeymoon suite and has even more space and an incredible river view. One villa can also be adjusted to fit a family.

The Hartmann Valley doesn’t see many tourists, and yet there are some incredible sights in this area.

Experience safari drives into the wild Namib Desert for a real ‘off the beaten track’ experience. Visit the local Himba settlements to see how the tribes survive in such extreme conditions. Join boat trips along the Kunene River in search of Nile crocodiles adapted to desert conditions and even quad biking over the massive sand dunes.

Adventure and luxury await at  Serra Cafema.

Why Wayfairer

The camp runs on a hybrid power system and is partly powered by solar, ad each guest tend has a solar geyser that provides hot water. They offer a range of activities that are primarily based on exploration that leaves no trace in the delicate habitat of the valley, and they also partner with a couple of universities to conduct research on crocodiles in the area.
